look, I am about to pull the trigger on one SWEET 2013 RocketIII tourer, exactly what I want. Hope to travel end of the week to see it, provided any of y'all don't beat me to it. Here is the deal, I have been riding my 1999 RoadStar since new and love it. I want something different though and this rocket is WAYYY different. Reminds me of a naughty big girl readhead, lol.

What baggage comes along with it? Surely a 1300lb motorcycle is like stopping a moving freight train. Can you even ride this machine on "tail of the dragon" in NC? What about tranny issues? Have heard a few horror stories. What's the real deal? I want to buy but am skittish. Just got to go ride one.

1300lb? I would think 800lb maybe, if buying at a dealer buy the extended warranty and ride the tyres off it.

Maybe 900 lbs tops. Plenty of Rockets have tamed the Dragon. Don't beat the tranny to death and it will last forever. Just do it!!!!

Welcome from Minden Nevada. Just do it and ye shall be forever grateful. You will be done with slow bikes forever. I came over from the Harley side of things. I rode my wife's Herritage Softail yesterday to top off the tank. It reminded me of how a riding mower performs.
