Hello everyone, I'm trying to see find a R3 for a decent price. My budget is $3500-$4500. Willing to travel to where the motorcycle is at, my time frame is 3 months from now. Finally got the go ahead from the woman. Hopefully I'm not aiming too low. Anyone that can help out it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Francisco

G'day and welcome.

You may have to come up a bit on your price, but you never know what you find - especially in the winter months.

Whereabouts in this big country are you?

Welcome from Mississippi!
That's definitely on the lower end, but could be possible. If you haven't already, keep scouring eBay as it will be your most likely source. You say you're willing to travel? Are you willing to up your price by the travel costs of you find something close? That may help too.

i'm located in Savannah Ga

You can get close to the $4500 number but it will need to be a private sale. Ive seen a number for about $5K but they are being sold by dealers. They all want about $500 - 1K in "extra" fees excluding sales tax and registration to get it out the door. They all say fees are not negotiable. Accessories for this bike are crazy expensive since very few companies make them. I would pay a bit extra for bike if it came with ones you want.

Whatever you do get it fully checked out. Any major issues and the motor has to come out and cases split. Parts and labor are expensive. Finding a nearby dealer is a big issue.

Welcome from one of the Aussies - good luck

In the middle of winter the cheapest I have seen a r3 asking price was 5,500 here in Wisconsin. 4,500$ might get you a 06 with 30 to 40k miles, but that's really pushing it. I would plan/save for 5500 to 6k and you will be able to get much lower miles and a better bike overall. Or look at a different bike, triumph has numerous bikes that could be had for 4k used that are pretty decent. The rocket is a expensive beast, a couple things broke/wrong and you might need 1 to 2k to fix it.

check my post on strpped the bike I will sell my 2006 very soon
