Hello from NSW Central Coast

Hey Craig - sorry to have missed your original post. Welcome to the Forum from Sunny South Florida (though not so much lately - more like living s Seattle ).

In my welcome post I listed the customisations I inherited from the bike's previous owner. Not having a stock R3R to use as a baseline it was pretty much a discovery process to work out what had been changed from standard. Well, over the weekend I think I have discovered one more item.

From pictures of 2010 Roadsters I have been looking at, it looks like the front footpeg is mounted in line with the rear exhaust outlet. On my bike the footpeg is just forward of the front exhaust outlet.

I have thrown a couple of photos in below showing closeups of my bike (apologies for the glare, I will try to get better pics shortly). Can anyone on the forum with a good working knowledge of Roadster models confirm what I am seeing? Was there a 2010 Roadster with forward-mounted pegs or is this likely to be some after-market work?

I have done a few checks to make sure my bike isn't an earlier model masquerading as a 2010 ... My VIN and compliance plate show my bike to be 2010. The bike also has ABS which I believe came in on the 2010 model.

This is the RHS footpeg on my bike, located just forward of front exhaust outlet.

This is the LHS footpeg on my bike. I couldn't find any good close-ups of stock 2010's to compare my bike against.

This is the footpeg position I am assuming is standard on the 2010 Roadster. Peg located in line with rear exhaust outlet.

Craig yes your bike is a Roadster and it still has the lower Roadster peg rail but they have moved them forward to very close to the "Standard" position, I have a set of Std rails and pegs if you are interested I have been meaning to put up for sale for some time now send a pm if interested and we can talk
I also noticed that the previous owner has put on some small filters that won't be doing you any favours and is probably starving the motor either get the RamAir filter or if if like me you like the look of individual filters there are other options but don't bother with the K&N RX 2780's as they are only just big enought and you will get better power from a RamAir or K&N 4040-1's or the K&N RU 1770's
Oh and that gear shift is a STD gear shifter with a tab welded on, you can see the original link mounting hole

I can see how they moved the shifter side, but I wonder how the rear brake was extended?

Also, does this mean that roadster foot controls can be fitted to older bikes?

Is it a tab welded on or just a hold drilled in the shifter arm?
It looks like that tab on top above the pivot point is where the linkage mounts in stock configuration.

I ask because I'm trying to learn.
