Hello from Frankonia!

Edit: ah, forgot - @Dr.D : why do you have these big indicators on your TFC???
Did you change them or is this Standard for the US-Version??.
I think is is a requirement on US bikes - US spec KTMs also have HUGE indicators.

Bratwüsten mit Kraut, mit Puree, mit Himmel und Erde - Senf - und ein Bier oder zwei.
I had hoped to be at the IWA in Nürnberg this year ---- but...........................

Hi Peter, welcome from western Washington state, an area of perpetual rain, overcast and moss. We'll look forward to some of our ride photos when you, or we all are, able to get out and about again.

I read a recent report about one of your state finance ministers who took his life in despair over not being able to prevent a financial crash. I believe he was in Frankfurt. How so very sad.

Thanks for sharing Perter! Great to hear you have a 1-of-50 limited edition...and of course your TFC is now priceless... I have the reverse with a classic car; our youngest boy, who grew up watching me work on cars and talk about my dream car one day, purchased and gave me that dream car several years ago... and of course she's priceless as well...

Thank you, Michael!

I started in the mid '80s with the usual european young guys dreams - Malaguti Fifty, HRD 80 and after this the first real motorcycle: a Kawasaki GPZ 900 R. Yes, I loved Top Gun… :whitstling:

Then - due to Family and Job - i paused for many years and restarted in the 2000s with a Vespa. While after a holiday trip to Italy I was keen on a T-Max, I went to our local dealer and saw this one:

It's a special german version of the Yamaha XJR, which was brought to the market for the 50th Anniversary of Yamaha in Germany - 50 exist, one of them is mine.

Two years later I was looking for a Cafe Racer and tried for example the Thruxton - but at the end of the day that beauty is way too small for me, so it became a second XJR:

For daily rides I always used big Scooters (my wife would not ride with me on the bikes) which actually ends in a Honda X-ADV

And if someone asks: yes, a Scooter has no normal foot rests, so this is a Scooter. Period. This is how I sold it to my wife...

:whitstling:

Ah - so it's like here in Germany with the Germans and their language...

;)

Yipp - genau das ist es. Bei uns in Franken gibt es alles an Bratwürsten, was Du Dir vorstellen kannst.

Thank you very much - I love it too because of the fact that it was a present of my parents.

One year ago I was about to buy my first HD (I love the Fat Boy since Terminator) when my Father stopped me and said "Keep your feet calm - there will be something comin'..."

By the way: my Father knows my local dealer quite well - since he retired he cruises around and checks every store in town. And since he knows that I buy nearly everything there, he passes by occasionaly… while Mom is at the hair dresser or whatever.

Based on this I was called in at the 2nd of May last year with my Father standing next to the owner of the shop, telling me that he wants me to have something "serious" from him as a present. He is actually 83 years old, but he was also into riding and supported me when I was young while Mom was not very happy that I had all the driving licenses for two wheels.

Result: "Son, I am already in the Free Game Zone (note: male mortal age in Germany is about 79 actually - he is, as I wrote, already 83), so it might not take long that I will leave. Yes, as our only son you will get everything when we are gone - but I want to give you something that you can look on and think 'hey, he wasn't all perfect, but he was my Father and he gave me this...' - and this is what you will get" and he passed me the contract.

It could not have been better if it would be in a movie...

So: yeah, I love it, too.

By the way: cool helmet! What type is this?

@all: thank you all for your warm welcome!!!

By the way: I still wait for my fly screen - thanks for sharing the picture, looks good on yours...
Very nice backstory on your new bike and what a great dad gift. The turn signals are standard US for this bike over here. Sooooooo much better than a Fatboy.

Helmet is an Icon Airflight with the chrome shield. It’s very Darth Vader cool.

One more pic of it on the other Rocket which I still have. My wife on her new Challenger.
