Hello everyone!

Greetings from sunny North Texas. Enjoy your new wheels.
Unfortunately I can't enjoy it quite yet, I kind of screwed myself by not being more diligent and trusting that most people are honest, when I picked up the bike there was no evidence of a cam cover leak but after the 70 mile ride home there was oil pissing down the header side... So I need to fix the cam cover first, I'm already half way through the disassembly process, not as bad as some make it out to be but also not what I was imagining when I picked up the bike. New gasket will be here tomorrow though so that's a plus.

No telling how long the bike has sat. Good to know the oil pump is strong. Good luck on your repair and plenty of help here if you run into trouble.

I appreciate that, I have been doing a lot of reading up on it. I'm kind of torn though, a lot of folks say use rtv on the D shaped tabs on the cam ends but I have read other folks saying it's a gasket and shouldn't need it that's about the only thing I'm torn on well, that and someone mentioned using a tiny bit of super glue to keep the gasket down better on install.

Welcome from Exotic Idaho. Yes the cam cover should have a tiny dollop of RTV at the D. Where in the world are you located ?
My bad, I'm actually west of you in Oregon, Eugene to be exact not my favorite place but it is what it is. Hopefully il be moving to Texas in the next couple years. Housing here is ridiculous and we need an upgrade 3 kids in a 3 bedroom house just isn't big enough.
