So, I should get the Classic by the end of this week. I have always admired the big capacity bikes so have finally decided to buy one. It's a 2006 Classic with a bit if love needed but the motor and gearbox is good and the aesthetics should be easy to fix...I am looking to put some sort of box on the back...heaps available from the USA but Australia is a difficult and expensive place to buy from...any ideas?

Thanks everyone for the welcome.

I have now taken delivery of the 2006 Rocket. As this is quite an old bike (for me anyway, as my last couple of bikes I have bought new) I am looking forward to having a good old tinker!

Here is a list of items that I plan, some already in progress in that the bits have been ordered:

Change indicators
LED Headlights
Re-position number plate and indicators to clean up rear fender
New custom screen, I'm tall and need a bit more aerodynamics that the small stock screen provides
Improve seat comfort
Custom paint

If there are any mods that you guys think are an absolute essential, please feel free to comment.

It already has an after-market exhaust system, not sure what it is as there are no markings but it is a 3 into 3 system that sounds quite good with a lot of angry popping when engine braking!

The seat with the backrest slot is available, but strangely, the back rest isnt! How screwed up is that? It seems like there are much more options available in the good old USA, shipping is murderous for us here in Oz!

The local dealer in Christchurch has picked up 19 pallets of older Rocket stuff and has the back rest and seats.
Also running lights brand new in the dusty box manufactured 06 for $300 NZ half price.

Waiting for them to sort out what they have and do a bulk buy for even more savings.

Don't no where it all came from but have heaps.
