Living Legend
I am old enough to remember when RAAF still had a few spitfires at Williamtown Air Base north of Newcastle, the North American Sabres were the main fighter plane in the early to mid fifties but the Spitfires used to fly over the Central Coast regularly, our School Teacher was a Ex RAAF pilot that flew spitfires in the Battle of Britain and he used to let the class run out when we heard one over head ,very impressive for a 5year old kid from the bush,so started my love of the rolls Royce Merlin engine ,Just did the one labeled best sound ever. Gave me goosebumps
