Hi all, and Merry Christmas! Funny story. Took my low rider to the diner for lunch, and back home. As I was pulling into my patio, she stalled. I have a tune from Hanso installed, and she runs great, but the idle is a tad lower than I'd like. So, being the silly old fart I am, decided to hook up TuneECU and have a look see. Well, I did this and that, "I know, I know", got done "playing" around, and she wouldn't crank. Nuttin. Had it on trickle charger during the whole time, so went ahead and took the seat off, so I could get to the fuses, and undid the fuses for the headlights. Continued connecting, reading, resetting this and that, scratching my going bald head, and still no go. Had a trouble code, as I don't have the sending unit for the gas hooked up. Went out to the barn, and found the old sending unit, hooked it up, cleared the code, still nuttin. This all took me around 2 1/2 hours, as my laptop battery was about to go south. Read through all the stuff on the TuneECU users guide. Was it something I did? Was it the TuneECU cable? Was it the fact that my laptop just did an update to Windows 10? Maybe the old driver thing? Finally gave up, figuring I probably totally screwed the ECU. Came back inside, sat down, and thought about it. Hummm, I don't recall the green neutral light being on..... Sure enough, went back out, gave the shifter a click, green light on, and she fired right up! My poor old brain sure ain't what she use ta to be. Like my departed Grandad used to say, "Mr "useta don't live here no more" ha ha ha

All that tech is to much for my old brain.

Most folks are suffering from overload this time of year from one degree to another, cooter. Lots of multitasking, frazzled brains or nerves every December as I see it year by year.

Don't be too hard on yourself as most here have suffered from their own vexing cases of human nature from time to time, too!

Merry XMas back onya'.

Hi all, and Merry Christmas! Funny story. ..... ha ha ha
This is as Phil says - the seasonal overload syndrome. I seriously detest this time of year as I am constantly being distracted by social "obligations" which for for someone with Schizoid Personality Disorder is more than just a bit annoying. But it's why I decided NOT to strip my Guzzi about a week ago. Right when you want to pull that little grunge-widget past the flux-capacitor - you get distracted and forget about the flim-gurgler. Decided to take a couple of weeks off next year to do it.

Well I have a similar tale for you Mr Cooter...
My Friend has an Indian Scout...nice bike but not my style. He went for a look see at the local Harley shop...as you do..and parked outside at the end of a row of Harleys. After taking a walk around he went outside, put his gear on, put the key in and she wouldn't start...tried again but no! He dosnt have a cell phone...I know, I know...so he walked around to the Indian Dealer and told him the problem.
The dealer lent him another scout with a few suggestions to try and asked him if it was in neutral....he said yes it was and rode around to check out a few things on his Scout. Hoping not to arouse any attention from the Harley guys he pulls up, dismounts and walks casually over to his bike...he looks down and thinks "The bloody thing isn't in neutral!"...sure enuff, he put it in neutral and she started!
So off he goes, returns the loan bike, mutters what a tosser he had been and walks back to his scout, hops on and quietly rides away feeling very embarrassed with himself....
I would have laughed but have learnt that if you do, its gonna happen to you sometime down the track!

Budman, thanks for the tip. Looks like it has a header on it too! I sent him an offer. Can't have too many Rockets ya know!
