Not got the bike in the garage yet but...nearly
I test rode a Hammer S last week and a Thunderbird and Rocket III this week and the Rocket III was the leader by a mile! The insane torque and surprisingly good handling for the size was enough for me. The acceleration from 60mph in 3rd was what really made me giggle, that and whacking it open on the way out of corners! The fact it was cheaper than the Hammer and only a little more than the TB made it a simple decision....
...So, I've put a deposit down on a new Rocket III Roadster in Matt Black With White Pinstripe...should hopefully get it in a few weeks once I hand over some coinage and sign somewhere, I'll get confirmation on Monday on what is going on with the dates.
I'm keeping my existing KTM SMT too, for the time being at least, thanks to a 0% APR deal. I plan on using the SMT for commuting/twisty hooning/all weather and the R3 for day trips and touring with the better half. The SMT may be replaced yet for something a little cheaper to run and easier to pick up if dropped in the snow, not sure yet...
The main thing is the Rocket will be mine soon
