Any ideas where I can find the top nuts for the forks? I have a 2005 R3 with a buggered up top fork nut. I'd like to get one so I can change out the fork seals.
Thanks for the tip. I've tried a few without any luck. I just tried Pin Wall but their web site is down and they're closed for the day.Try any motorcycle dismantler....Pin-wall? if you give them a call, and tell them what your after....they might have a few on the side from damaged fork legs....
I'm sorry but now that I'm home I searched for over an hour on eBay and did not find a top fork nut for a Rocket 3. Found many for every other model Triumph and even BSA but not a one for a Rocket 3. If you don't mind can you include a link or just tell an old feeble 70 year old where it is listed?eBay has a used tube with the nut on it for 45. Just look around. I only searched for 1 minute. I'm sure you can look it up and find the part number and spend more then $50 from triumph
Thank You very much. I appreciate it. I'm buying it.Sure. I just looked for "rocket iii fork tube"
here is the first one i found within a few seconds of scrolling though the used items.
2005-2017 Triumph Rocket III Classic Roadster RIGHT FORK TUBE LEG FOR PARTS | eBay
Since im sitting down now ill run you though my parts fiding prosses.
google it / eBay it. If no results are found or its hard to know what to call the part, go to a manual parts diagram and find the part number and take that back to step 1. Now shop around for that part number
here is a link to parts diagram. I looked for "fork"
FRONT FORKS & YOKES ROCKET III & CLASSIC ONLY for Triumph ROCKET III CLASSIC & ROADSTER # TRIUMPH - Online Genuine Spare Parts Catalog
looks like part is #12 and has the part number T2045529 and is like $60 from triumph plus shipping. So lets look for that part # on eBay now and also google. After a few minutes of that looks like some places have it but its about the same cost. SO a used one for $45 with free shipping or local pickup in ohio seems to be the right deal unless someone here has one for sale they could get you for less $$. I bet you can part out that fork assembly, keep the nut and make back your $ easily from the lower guard and bracket. its funny someone also said pinwall for parts, i just noticed that this is from them!
I did. They are short handed so they have nobody to remove the nut. It's OK the shipping is free anyways. Thanks for the tip thoughBut if you call a recycler and tell them your needs they may part out their damaged fork tube and sell you Just the nut for a smaller price...
