EFI Controller

Looks interesting skip and worth a try as it don't seem like it will lean the normal tune out. Looking forward to your report.

I don't think it CAN lean the fuel out,
it says all it can do is add fuel.
I don't know yet but we shall see.

If I did get a tuneboy, and almost did, that last group buy,
then I'd have to have my 16 year old daughter lead me through the learnng process,
an boys, I just ain't ready to go there.
See, I'm more of a hands on kinda guy,
I can read the reports, look at the pictures of charts and graphs till I'm blue in the face and they don't mean squat,
I might as well be lookin at egyptian.
Somebody can tell me, and show me,
where I can see what it does as it does it,
an I'm good, I got it.
Like I said, a screwdriver to richen her up to get rid of the poppin on decel,
I can handle that..

I think its worth a try Skip hell I would except I had to change the injector plugs on mine when I installed larger one with the blower kit so they probably won't match up with the stockers. So I will be seeing Wayne Tripp on the 25th for some tuning of the predator system on my way to Daytone Bike Week. Then when I get the pistons in and the Carpenter Head/cam work done I will go see him again!!

Appreciate the replies guys.
I don't see any harm in trying it out.
I can run it for a couple of weeks,
pull the exhaust off and see what I see.
If she's too rich then lean er down a little bit or pull it off.
Either way, we'll know if its a good product and works or not.

I've got a few mods on mine too.
I'm running the 3 K&N's, a custom homemade exhaust and the GiPro.
Don't have the PC 3 on it right now.
But with the short single drag pipe, it pops on decel.
Wanna cure that if I can without goin' the tuneboy route.

Skip I had the techlusion FFi unit on my first Vtx 1800 and a PC III on my second. The Dobeck unit is a simple set and forget pot-controlled (no pun intended) unit that requires no fuss to dial in as does the PC III. You're right, it can only enrichen your mixture. The company gave me great advice on the proper settings to use given my set up. I would speak to their tech service guy(s) before buying to see what kind of experience they've had with various Rocket IIIs and what, if any, advice they might have for you regarding optimal pot settings for your sitcheeation.

I found that my bike with the TFi was the stronger running of the two and as a consequencew it did get slightly less fuel efficiency than the other one. I just sold my old unit ovcer on the VTX opwner's board. Wish I had known you were looking, I let it go pretty cheaply.

One thing, though, the unit I had (5yrs old0 had a sticker on the packaging which stated that it was for engines less than 2000 ccs, so make certain they now sell one for our bigger beasts!
