Dobeck TFI

I was looking on the Flipmeisters Performance website and saw the Dobeck Performance TFI Controller. Anyone know how this thing works?
 
I won't pretend to know how it works but I can tell you I'm really happy with mine. Flip sent me a pretty simple explanation which I'm sure would be found on the Dobeck website, or maybe even on Flip's. It's a simple plug and play with adjustments done with a screw driver rather than needing a dyno or computer. A bit like the old carbie days, which suits me fine.
 
i had one on a bmw oilhead.worked great,smoothed out surging and flatspot which they were prone to.
 
At less than half the price of a PCV and if you have the nous to fiddle with it, yes, it's well worth it. I'll most likely upgrade to a PCV + AT at some stage but for now I'm very happy with it. Fixed all the issues (decel popping, rough idle etc) I created with exhaust, filters etc and it runs very sweet.

To the best of my knowledge..
The scews on the Dobek are trim pots or tiny resistors that vary the micro voltages on the circuit board, by varying the resistance and raising/lowering the voltage signals it controls the fuel deliver etc..
But as Richard is saying its orety much like adjusting the old style Carby's if you don't mind fiddling.. I nearly got a Dobek but opted for the PCv+AT as this does everything automaticay as you ride... Bonus so to speak

So, I'm running the TORS with the stock download to keep the flies open. I do have popping when down shifting. Does it come with a base set up ?
 
Went to the Dobeck website. Looks like they only make for Regular Rockets and not the R3T. Anyone use it on their R3T?
 
I've got a dobeck but mine is a generation 3.
it's all push button instead of needing a screw driver.
plug-n-play, with 3 buttons.
there's 6 modes.
1) cruise,
2) switch point for cruise,
3) idle,
4) switch point for idle,
5) full throttle,
6) switch point for wide open acceleration.
Basically what the PC V does for a lot less money
and years before them.
IF you've got a system that PC has a canned tune for,
then that's fine.
It didn't work for me, so I checked out Dobeck.
The guy that invented the Power Commander and sold it to Dynojet,
invented the Dobeck after he sold the PC 3 to them.
I like mine, they also give a veterans discount or did when I got mine.
Not complicated, plug-n-play and led lights show you where you are
when making adjustments.
