It's not difficult to carry a set of Torx & Hex drives.
The brake disc and caliper could be unbolted and then be positioned clear of the hub. The caliper & disc can then be cable tied to the fork leg......and Voila!........the lock is bypassed.
.....or have I missed something??

Any and all of these theft prevention devices can also be bypassed with 2-4+ big guys and a box truck or van. Take it someplace private and pick it, drill it, torch it... heck, wait for it to rust off.

Yeah, kinda.... You can make the front door out of 3" thick case hardened steel, but if you put the hinges on the outside with easy to access fixings, what have you actually achieved other than making a very heavy and expensive door.

I believe most everyone understands you can't keep thieves from being thieves but possibly slow them down or have them decide to move on to a simpler theft. That's what this product does. Nothing is foolproof and given time a scumbag will figure how to steal it. It's a deterrent and that's all. They most likely will just move on to the next one without security but in desperate times they may not be smart enough to do that. They will always look for the weak and easy theft or subject.

Sure. I get that. It's a very valid point to make.

I can imagine that most if not all seasoned bikers view security devices as just a 'delay device' when making the decision to purchase said product, and that's how your average magazine style test shoot-out evaluates these kinds of products........and there lies the cracks in my consumer impulsivity to just read the group test and rush out and purchase the lock which lasted the longest on the grinder test.

My stumbling block surrounding this logic can be formed around the question:
How tough (...and expensive...) do you need to go on the 'value for money' scale before the product drops off the scale of logic?

I am yet to read a review that rummages around the nooks and crannies in the great box of logic.
They tend to just focus on a specific quality when it comes to concluding whether or not one lock is better than another.
The answer more often than not, is that of course, the most expensive one is the best one.
You get what you pay for, ok, makes sense most of the time. So why should this be any different...Fine.

So while we are evaluating the heavy skills on display......grinding or smashing the device apart...... That's proper mans work, by the way.....
Meanwhile, we perhaps didn't notice the quiet, rather weedy little guy a the back, silently unscrewing the brake disc and walking off with the bike owned by the big burly fella swinging his angle grinder about.
Might we be wise to ask whether or not such a strong and hugely expensive device is worth fitting on a component that can be just unscrewed from the bike?

I mean, taking it to the max, one might ask, how much does a lock need to cost before the thief steels the lock rather than the bike......I think I need a lie down now....

I remember what back when I got one I guess they was cheap back then, thank goodness I put one on mine and forgot it was on and went to drive off and it broke and no damage thank goodness. Now there stronger and your like me and forget I'm sure your do damage
