I remember being concerned when I was first lurking on the site trying to decide if the Rocket would work (for me, would NOT work were it not for the supportive community here), and there was a run on Touring side covers because of the insecure attachment method, and the very first mod I made was drilling the internal post and running zip ties through them, as suggested by @cr0ft.

I guess I haven't ridden the bike enough, or hard enough, for a cover to bounce off, but I feel better with the secondary attachment.

One of the first things I came across was just that, you said that’s what to do to keep them from flying off, so I did just that and even though they have come loose and dangling when I notice there loose but the ole wire tie trick through the drill hole trick works good, thanks paul and Croft wherever he is.
