Triumph 955i Daytona, Triumph Rocket 3
I get some backfire when slowing down with the bike in gear. Also sometimes at a stand still I flip the throttle and get a backfire through the carbs. I recently bought the bike, it has jardine pipes, k&n pods and a PC 3. The owner told me to put premium gas in? Any thoughts? Oh and my bike is a 2007

If by backfire you me deceleration popping I would say you need to visit a tuner. They should be able to fix the decel popping by adding a little fuel to the A/F mixture in the right places

I was told it was dyno tuned. It seems to drink fuel compared to my 955i Daytona

With a decent tune you should be getting somewhere in the 33 - 35 mpg range. All Dyno tunes aren't created equal. Some tune for max HP, some for economy, etc. I had mine tuned last weekend and got 35.6 mpg on the interstate at 80 mph on the way home

There are others on here far more knowledgeable than I and I'm sure they will be along shortly to offer their advice

What was it tuned for? How was it tuned? What software did they use to tune it? Do you have a copy of the tune? The PC3 doesn't have the AT feature, so you may end up moving to a PCV/AT, or get TuneECU or TuneBoy and then you will be able to do even more.

So do you think I could just remove the PC and load another tune? Or maybe not tune it at all?

I added a tune ECU map to my daytona, are these good maps for the Rocket?

Not sure how it was tuned. I can try and ask the previous owner. Would it just be best to start from scratch?
