Guess It Was My Turn - went off today (crashed)!

This reminds me of a time a couple decades ago when I was on a Harley forum and the subject was accidents. I admitted to having some level of fear when bike riding. I was stunned by the critical feedback I got. Basically the comments said I should not ride and the only bikers on the road...

Close Calls - Stupid on 4 Wheels

This reminds me of the 2003 to 2008 time frame when we lived in Hickory, NC. We were amazed at the high # of traffic encounters where cars came around blind mountain curves in the middle of the road. I don't mean in the middle of their lane but straddling the center line of the road. We also...

Close Calls - Stupid on 4 Wheels

Yup, it's a jungle out there. I installed a dashcam in my car about a year ago and so far it does an excellent job of recording both front and rear views. Your rearward camera appears to show and record the same view you would get viewing traffic behind you in your mirrors. In my case the...

Meet REX my new 2022 FLHR Road King

Nice, looks identical to my bro-in-laws 2015 Road King. He constantly messes with the pipes. He was on his third or fourth iteration of drilling, removing, adding, deleting baffles. Now he is on his 2nd or 3rd set of new mufflers. Rush and other brands. He is going to end up spending what...

    Florida people

Lived in Tampa for 5 years. Great weather in the "winter" time. Weather sucks bad in the summer time. Also, they have bugs as big as B52's and a tiny little fly, deer fly, that bites and will make you itch like crazy, as bad as those chigger critters in Missouri. :(

    Better Late than Never

Geez, now I am tempted to find and buy another front wheel and install the smaller Cobra size you and others recommend. Then do a comparison test between my Michelin Road 5 and your Avon's, giving each a few hundred miles of testing. :)

    Better Late than Never

I believe my Avon Cobra was the OEM recommended size, 150/80/R17. If a smaller size was recommended by "most guys" when I was searching for a recommended front tire 4 years ago when I joined the forum then I missed that detail.

    Better Late than Never

I can't remember what the reasoning is, it was too convoluted for my understanding but I bought into it and it works great for the handling on my bike. You might be able to find discussions about it with some searching. If I get caught in the rain I am not going to ride any farther or faster...

    Better Late than Never

Yes, a 70 has a lower profile compared to the 80, by a little. My understanding is the "aspect ratio" is a % or a ratio of the sidewall compared to the tire width. In this case the sidewall height is 70% of the tire width. ........ but I may be wrong. When you say, "they" are suppose to...

    Better Late than Never

I installed an Avon Cobra to replace the worn out Metzler on the front wheel when I bought my '06 Classic a few years ago. The Cobra combined with an Exedra Max on the rear wheel was the ideal combination according to the words of wisdom at the time. Well, after a few thousand miles with that...

Bought British Again-Now Can I Hang Out With the Cool Guys

    My Moto Hobo life

As they say, "No good deed goes unpunished." It's a jungle out there. On here too.

    I sold the R3T today 😢

Small world, my '06 Classic was originally sold by Rocket Motorcycles in San Diego, still have the Rocket logoed plate frame on the bike and I lived in Odessa, between Tampa and Clearwater 1998 to 2003. You just sold an R3T and I just bought one. And get this......in High School I wore the...

    Boog's bikes; a Short Novel.

Well hell, just when I decided to stop shopping for a Touring model. Then you come along with that picture and a big **** eating grin. **** it, back to the shopping grind.

What good will come from Corona19

Yes, but now, instead of bringing up the rear where I usually ride and now worry about inhaling what the clowns in front of me are exhaling.....I move to adjacent lanes if possible or fall way the heck back.

    I’m liking the GT

With bags the bike looks so much better to me. Makes me continue to dream about the bike with a full-fledged windshield, floorboards, heel-toe shifter, bigger seat for my fat butt, etc. In other words a bike like my Classic or Ultra that is accessorized for long distance touring. For a new...

    Guess What

Maybe you were thinking I was talking about changing my oil filter at 20,000 miles? I was talking about the NAPA/Wix fuel filter. "Bought the most expensive, "Gold" NAPA Auto Parts fuel filter I could find,...." :)

    Guess What

Bought the most expensive, "Gold" NAPA Auto Parts fuel filter I could find, #3032, and then found the small print on the box said, "made by WIX". Thankfully I had already installed the very same but much cheaper Wix Brand filter. So, the NAPA filter is on the shelf and ready for installation...

    Battery powered heated motorcycle gloves

I checked one of my Gerbing gloves and none of the 4 labels sewn inside the gauntlets gave a clue about where it was manufactured. Then I looked at my heated jacket liner and it says, "Made In USA". Then I went back to the gloves and seeing the other glove had different labels from the first...

    Battery powered heated motorcycle gloves

Yes, exactly.....why make the gauntlet too tight to fit over our sleeves? Seems like they could have easily designed them to be adjustable with Velcro or elastic or a simple pull string. I'll have to check my gloves to see where they were made but I suspect China as are many things I buy. Good...
