    What are the signs

Update: Triumph was finally contacted by my dealer, and they gave the dealership full permission to do whatever necessary to get the bike back to 100%. So the dealer took the motor out of the bike to check the output shaft. Turns out its the torsion bearing? I think thats right. Anyway he...

    What are the signs

Wow, how in the world can I convince Triumph to do that? My dad works at a bike dealership, (non Triumph). A buddy of his said that most manufacturers refuse even some warranty work from the dealers request, but as soon as the customer calls, its usually taken care of. But in the mean time, I...

    What are the signs

Well talked to the dealer this morning. Whatdya know it's somewhere internal like maybe the output shaft bearing. So now they are waiting to hear back from triumph on weather or not they are gonna cover the 12 hours of labor plus parts to fix the problem. I can tell you I have already decided my...

    What are the signs

Well they charged 2 hours of labor for the bearing, and then to take the final drive apart. Two hours sounded pretty quick to me. Too late to take it somewhere else. As long as they eat it and not me, we'll be square. They are closed today, but Ill call them tomorrow, and give you guys an...

    What are the signs

Thanks for the info guys. But if it dosent come out of the dealer's pocket, why would they try to hide it if they ever had an issue with this? They dealer seems ok. They submitted the claim into Triumph already. My bike came out of warranty this past September. They said they probably would...

    What are the signs

Well, took it to the dealer. Def. the bearing and possibly the final drive. Dealer says he's checking with Triumph to see if they will cover it. I told him a lot of you guys got it covered out of warranty because it seemed to be a common problem, but he never heard of the bearing going out...

    What are the signs

Took it to my local bike shop to get the tires replaced. Sure enough, its the bearing, and getting worse. Looks like Ill have to trailer it to the actual Triumph dealer. Any other issues these bikes have? Never had any with my 05. This one is not getting off to a great start. Tim

    What are the signs

Hmm, wouldnt a brake dragging sound more like a squeak or something? When I roll it forward a little with my helmet off it sounds more like a clunk of the gear engaging and then a slight grinding sound. But It may just be that I am paraniod, as I know it makes some gear noise. Can barley hear...

    What are the signs

Hey guys, I have a 2007 rocket classic. I noticed a kind of grinding sound coming from I think the somewhere in the drive shaft. But only under accel or decel, not idling, so I know its not the engine. I cant tell if its just gear noise or a real problem. Ive read the threads about the output...
