  1. Avon Tyres

I've had Metz & Avons - no difference in handling wet or dry. I rode through the worst storm this century with the Avons, -even traversed a flash-flood, - no problem with handling at all. My only concern would be the recent(ish) problems with Avons - have they resolved the issue?
  2. Full Face Helmets

As I'm sure you know.... all helmets fit differently so it's best to try a few out. Not forgetting there are 'quiet' and 'noisy' helmets, so be sure to read up on which is best for you. I have Shoei with intercom now but tried a 'Justimmo" flip-lid before deciding. Personally I found the...
  3. Do you really need the 10K service?

Mine is on 14k miles with nothing but an oil change, and the obvious safety maintenance checks. Sometimes the 'if it aint broke don't fix it' principle comes in, but as ever, if the **** thing breaks down you will wish you had the 10k service :) Frankly, I think it's as much to do with Triumph...
  4. what's involved in changing the wheels?

New bearings and seals are a must - you can reuse the disk bolts. If you can change a wheel on a pushbike and are generally 'practical' with tools....? the wheels and disks (and rear drive rubber maybe?) are a simple job - use the workshop manual on here (Bishop's tagline) and it should be a...

  11. Returning Progressive 440HDs under warranty

If you do use the "wood technique" it obviously means you can still move the bike without too much bother. However, don't forget to take some pics and use them too wind up future forum members.... 8) :D
  12. Returning Progressive 440HDs under warranty

Not to take anything away from the generosity from Bishop... If you are desperate, make up a 'quick fix' by drilling a couple of holes each in two bits of plank that match the same size and distance measurements as the shocks - use them as a temporary replacement (if the bike is to be left...
  13. LIFTING THE R3 - fitting new rear shocks

It's not a difficult job, and yes you can probably do one at a time without lifting the whole bike - I managed without.

  17. Installing the Triumph Auxiliary Power Socket

  18. Radiator ... bottom hose.

Yep, that would be the one. I guess it's just a bit of patience and a few bruised knuckles to fit a replacement... :)
  19. Radiator ... bottom hose.

Has anyone had to replace a split/damaged bottom hose? I was wondering if it's possible to do without removing the complete radiator? I took my radiator off last year to repair a hairline crack with Rad Weld so no real problem, but if it's been done without all that palaver I'd be a happy bunny..
  20. Removed the secondaries today

Has anyone removed the secondaries without fitting K&N filters - just replacing the existing carbuncle of a system?
