  1. R3 Life Span

Almost to 30,000 miles on my '05. Problems with the idle and 2nd gear jumping out. Other than those runs great!
  2. 2nd gear problem

Thanks for the help everyone! - and Regulator - I originally thought I was only spinning a tire - rude awaking to find out it was the gear letting loose instead of the tire!
  3. 2nd gear problem

I know a few others have had this problem and it has started to get really bad recently for me. In second gear under heavy torque loads (and not even so heavy recently) the bike just seems to come out of gear completely. Yesterday it wouldn't immediately re-engage so I had to hop into third...

  10. Front End Wobble

J, Mine did the same thing - I checked tire pressure etc. and ultimately found out it was the steering head bearing as gr3ywolf suggested. Mechanic tightened it up and it runs tight. Easy fix - good luck! E
  11. Bike to Bike radios?

gldean, My wife and I bought a couple of "scala riders" last year. They work off of your cell phone using one touch and voice activation technology. My wife had a full windscreen and was able to converse at speeds over 70 mph. I did not have screen and had trouble hearing over 50...
  12. Beware tonic #386 - Drink at your own risk

I did the 12 minute reset on the ECU as per Biker1059's recommendation - no change however :(
  13. Beware tonic #386 - Drink at your own risk

Biker, I read your experience on another topic and plan to try that tomorrow morning. That would be great if it worked.
  14. Beware tonic #386 - Drink at your own risk

By my count 7 guys on this forum have reported bigger problems after #386 - it may be a dealer issue in which case I will try again - it's just such a long way over and back that I want to make sure they know how to fix it when I get there.

captain, It seems that there are a lot of guys from different places experiencing problems so I'm not sure either. I wish someone would sort it all out.
  17. Beware tonic #386 - Drink at your own risk

It seems to me that enough guys have posted on this forum reporting serious problems from 386 for someone to say hold off if you haven't had it done yet. I'm sure there is a percentage that have downloaded it and it went well for them - but whatever my percentage is we are experiencing a...
  18. Post recall idle problems

Biker, I'm ignorant to the "12 minute tune" is that a tune boy thing?
  19. Post recall idle problems

Hey G-Man, Thanks for the encouragement. It will take a lot more than this problem to make me walk away from this bike. I have rode quite a few others and have absolutely no desire to ride anything else. This ride was made for me! Just getting a little tired of this problem. E
  20. Post recall idle problems

Rich, I tried the "Idle/Stall" sticky fix today (manually adjusting the idle screw) and while it worked for my stall problem it did not work on this problem. It continues to hang up at 2,000. Let me know if they figure anything out with your bike - the dealer here wanted mine back to try...
