    hand deflectors?

These guys have taken the original hippo hands concept and created an updated version. I e-mailed the guy and he recommended the large size. They are butt ugly but very effective. I ride in heavy rain here in Seattle and got tired of drying the gloves and the total lack of feel on the controls...

    r3 rider backrest

Hey John: I have 12K miles on my R3 since I bought the Utopia backrest. It is absolutely great. I have it set so it moves me quite a ways forward which gets my legs underneath me what with the Rivco boards. Much better riding position as it takes all the weight off the tailbone and means I...

    r3 salt flats cruiser record

Scott Zollars of Cycle Barn is the real deal. Best Triumph wrench on the West Coast according to my dealer (not Cycle Barn) and according to the factory truck guys. The bike they used at the flats is on display at the dealership. The steering damper configuration alone convinced me I don't want...

    Russell Day-Long Seat

In an odd way, I think it looks just right for the RIII. Weird and non-standard, just like the old girl. I just bought a seat from a fellow Captain just so I can mail it in and have them make me one. Your testimonial reaffirms my intent. Thanks and enjoy the ride! Bob

    Hepco & Becker

I have the Junior 40 litre sidecases and just fitted a 45 litre top box with the Hepco & Becker "universal" adapter plate. Had to buy longer bolts to make the adapter work but other than that it was great. The sidecases will each take a full-face helmet and the top box takes two. Now, if I could...

    NewR3.com

I'd also endorse these guys. Brent has bent over backwards to accommodate requests for non-stock items. Reliable, good prices and really friendly service. Highly recommended.

R3-specific Cruise Control from down under

Just read the review on web-bike world and the manufacturer makes an R3-specific version. Looks cool. http://www.webbikeworld.com/t2/motorcyc ... e-control/ Link from here to the manufacturers site.

    need help finding part numbers

For future reference, Bike Bandits () has the complete Triumph OEM fiche online and you can find the part #'s there, even if you buy locally. As a cautionary note both the dealership fiche and Bike Bandit's had the wrong part listed for my wife's '07 America clutch lever. Showed a non-adjustable...

    baffled

I believe turbofan built a tool to do this. You might try PM'ing him. There's a thread somewhere on the site about his adventures in baffle removal. Good luck.

    Rear Wheel Spindle

Thanks you guys. Felt a bit stupid but will head over to Napa today. Captain Grey Wolf - feel better and hope to hear of you out riding soon.

    Rear Wheel Spindle

It is, but it's about 2mm too small. How's the healing coming along?

    Rear Wheel Spindle

I'm trying to remove the rear wheel but the spindle and nut turn as a unit. I don't have anything that fits the recessed hex opening on the other side of the spindle to hold it. Anyone else had this problem or have a recommendation?

My quest for the perfect seat

Aussiebikerdave had a custom seat made by Ultimate Seats (www.ultimateseats.ca) in Canada. Another Captain recently wrote that he'd spoken with them and they were making a Rocket III specific seat and it would be available by the end of the year. Davo's setup looks really nice and he swears by...

    Engine Guards

If I may also presume, Captain Gasket, I have had nothing but positive experiences buying Rivco products from www.newr3.com. These guys have gone the extra mile for me in the past and I highly recommend them (no financial incentive, not married to the owner's sister, etc.) Pinky

    pelican cases for panniers?

The bike's a bit dirty but here's the Hepco setup: The mounting kit is available at New R3. I order the bags from there, also, but I had to send an e-mail to Brent (sales@newbonneville.com). The whole setup was about US$600 and each bag is 45 litres. Hope that helps. /Bob

    pelican cases for panniers?

I thought about it because I've used Pelican cases for camera equipment on photo shoots and those suckers can take a beating. I saw, somewhere, a BMW adapter for Pelican cases but I couldn't tell you where. In a more motorcycling spirit, New R3 (www.newr3.com) has the brackets for mounting...

    No instruments, no ignition

Guys, thanks for the support. I was supposed to leave the house at oh-dark-thirty to get to the mall ahead of the crowds but stupidity intervened. However, it did stop raining and I rode to the mall, finished up the shopping and got in a nice 90 minute ride to the mountains and home again...
