The thing is, if a manufacturer abandons me and won't offer me the machines I like to ride, I shall abandon that manufacturer and find one that will cater to ME! That said...Kawasaki's Vulcan Voyager 1700 is lovely! Just lovely....shame they make about one a month and you can hardly find one!

Totally different approach….Harley bottom end is what we get because we want it. It has its place. My R3T could do it all though…sniff😢

Ditto with the Indian Pursuit! Or you could do HD Road Glide Ultra…if you prefer air cooled. As many bells and whistles as you can dream of too!

I think it’s what struck me when these new ones came out that yes…there was one for just riding…rocket style of course…and one set up as power cruiser….fine…but they had a good touring setup in the R3T…all they needed to do is put proper stuff in the accessory catalog….but it ain’t there….I’m...

I likened it to a Road King….more over could do three day trips with full saddlebags and a tail bag. But the saddlebags for the 2.5? Who they kidding?

Never going to buy a 2.5 rocket…you just can’t go properly touring on them without significant upgrades. The R3T was perfect with capacious hard saddlebags and your tbag you could tour like a boss! If I get another trumpet, that and only that will be what I get.

Haven't really been paying attention but when I search the tinterwebs I see bikes that look oddly familiar. While on hand I would hate to take a bike from someone that enjoyed good miles...I wouldn't hate it so much to keep from plunking out the coins...especially if the price was nice. I guess...

Oh, and I reckon where used R3T's are concerned, any given one is probably being offered by someone who frequents this place.

Well, I totalled my R3T back in 2018....went bikeless for a few months and picked up a 1989 FLTCU which I am in the process of rebuilding...then picked up a cherry 1991 FXRS with low miles....it just needs some taillight work but pulls wheelies easy. I confess the new Rockets alienated me...

    2018 Roadsters price drop

I will keep tinkering with my FLTCU.....it handles like a bike half it's weight. It gets 50mpg.....and while no Rocket....it gets you where your are going.

    If you have modified exhaust...

If you use a custom tune whether you downloaded it or made it yourself, you should probably turn the O2 sensor off....otherwise your custom maps will eventually be overwritten by the 02 sensors data...if the ECU is getting o2 data it will write maps that go with its basic programming....rideable...

    R3T no rear brakes

Hopefully there's no air going up to the ABS pump, but if there is, it requires a way to activate the pump to bleed it.
