Blown away by a sportbike in the twisties...

There is a sense of achievement in taking such an enormous, ludicrous, monster of a bike out on twisty roads without going through a hedge. If you ride a sports bike you have to go twice as fast to get the same sense of achievement. So I wave them past. Getting old enough to appreciate comfort...

    Anyone tried XB Extremeblasters?

I'm hoping if they are $100 it should be possible to get one sent over, pay import duty and end up around £100 (=$160). Will let you know if I manage that!

    Anyone tried XB Extremeblasters?

Not something I had come across on this side of the pond, but now I know about them I will start noticing them everywhere! For 100 I will give them a try.

    Anyone tried XB Extremeblasters?

Triumph Rocket 3 exhaust XB Extremeblaster tunable pipe slip on to header They look quite tidy, not too expensive and light weight. I want to know what they are like if set up not to be too loud. Anyone tried them?

If you need the engine out...

One was one of those holding the running board bracket to the engine casing. The other was also into the engine casing, but I forget which one. The guys in Merthyr Tydfil sorted those out for me too. An extra £100.:(

If you need the engine out...

Yes, if you have a workshop, the tools and the know how doing it yourself is the best option. I had started work myself, but soon found it was beyond me. I had sheared 2 bolts by then:oops:. I needed the forks doing too (one had leaked a few months before) and that was included. It was...

    III not 111

Since the subject was brought up, can someone tell me how did the 0.20 over get placed under my username? I didn't add that, not on purpose anyway. No really sure what it means either. Cylinder bore? That had me puzzled too. Seems to be a rating system for how many posts you post or something...

    fork seals

I used that technique Rocket 65 was referring to last year and it worked like a dream. I was 600 miles and a ferry trip from home when I hit a bump in the dark and noticed oil oozing from the right fork next morning. It was a holiday weekend and there are no Triumph dealerships in that area...

    III not 111

Am I alone in finding the use of 'Rocket 111' a bit annoying. Its not a Rocket One Hundred and Eleven, its a Rocket III or 3. Roman numerals are formed from letters, not numbers. Searching eBay for Rocket III stuff you can miss out if you don't also search using '111' because the error is so...

    Too many accessories...

Had some of those on an SR500 (Yam single) in the 80's that I would ride in any weather. They were very effective. As long as they are easy to take off when you don't need them. Exactly! Load up with any amount of stuff when going on a trip, but strip it right back after. Had to buy a pair of...

    Too many accessories...

I have removed the highway pegs, fork wind deflector things, passenger backrest, rack, leather tank pocket and spot lights that were on my bike when I got it. To me too much unnecessary stuff detracts from the ride. In Summer I take the screen off too, so I can feel the speed. Anyone else feel...

    Triumph survey 12/8/15

On the positive side, I got my bike cheap because the previous owner had issues getting the bike to start. Turned out to be 2 problems, both easily fixed. Poor battery connections and a bit of dirt on the neutral switch (under the little cover near the shaft output). Never had any electrical...
