    Update, and knowledge for all, On the 2014 roadster, not sure about earlier models the clutch switch is an input to the "miles to empty", and fuel gage, when i installed the apes I removed the "clutch safety switch" which disabled both "miles to empty and fuel gage" glad I kept all the pieces...

    Take it to the dealer and have them check the throttle position reostat, mine did the same thing, all over at idle, that fixed it.

    . Took my last Rocket through the dragon with apes and a 245 car tire on the rear, my apes are torqued down and pinned, its my bar hopper so I use it more for cruising than launching from redlights, although it doesn't take much launching to put a harley in rear view mirrors anyway.

I have always been a big fan of ape hangers, difficult to do on a goldwing and my indian is all original, so here is my Rocket with 20 inch apes. Some people like it...
