    Rocket owners average age!

Sold my 2008 FatBoy after 5 years of ownership to buy my first new 2013 R3T. I liked my FatBoy, but I just wanted to try something different. I might have to downgrade to one of the Indian Chief models. Gonna do some test rides this summer.

    Rocket owners average age!

77 tomorrow! Doing just fine on the road, except I can't simply swing this thing around on a two lane road. Especially dirt....I have to maneuver it around with both feet paddling on the ground. Very top heavy in that maneuver. I might be able to do it, but I don't want to oversteer and...

    Fuel filter renewal

I would think a partial exchange would be better than nothing. I don't know what percent it would be. I think the triumph software opens the ABS up for 90 seconds. It has to cool between cycles or you can damage the ABS modulator. 😱 I'll have to hookup the laptop this summer and see how it...

    Fuel filter renewal

The inlet and outlets were the same diameter. I can't remember exactly what the problem was...it was either the slight size difference of the filters or one if the inlets/outlets were angled slightly. Anyway, it will work. I had purchased the gas tank gasket and a valve cover gasket well in...

    Fuel filter renewal

I did mine last year and used the Mahle filter because it was cheaper. I notice it did not fit the same as the stock filter as there was a size difference. The inlet/outlets did not line up the same. I did get it installed, but it would have been easier had it matched up the same. I also...

    R3T Floorboards Have To Go!

I wouldn't want to make another set. They are really not that that hard to make, but they take a lot of time. The 3/8 plate and aluminum bars can be a bit pricey. I do have a plan with dimensions and the pattern template I could post if anyone would like it. I tried to document it as...

    R3T Floorboards Have To Go!

This is my last update. I have a few more tweaks...mainly some sanding, finish work and then mounting the top rubber as the last thing. ● I made the new brackets out of some 1" X 1/2" X 2 1/2" long aluminum,. ● I slightly repositioned and enlarged the pin holes in my brackets for some 5/16"...

    R3T Floorboards Have To Go!

I thought I would do an update. I found some 3/8 inch plate locally and decided to cut them out myself. Actually, they cut easier than I thought. I was a little concerned about my band saw blade loading up as aluminum can do that. I have done some sanding and put a radius around the edges...

    R3T Floorboards Have To Go!

Thanks....I did look at that. but he took the fork tube covers off to do it. I haven't seen any body's solution with the covers still on. The tubes are tapered, but there is a 3 inch diameter lower section. I would have to make a custom clamp.

    R3T Floorboards Have To Go!

I haven't made a post in awhile highlighting my latest project idea, so here it goes. Have you ever notice how big and in the way the floorboards are on the R3T. I can barely get my legs out past them to get my feet on the ground when stopping. They are so long, wide and in the way it is hard...

For Sale Save me from myself

Actually, I was thinking about a GT as they are and feel lighter... and my first choice. What am I thinking. I must be nuts thinking like that. Power junkie sickness I suspect.

For Sale Save me from myself

I feel your pain as I am seriously thinking about selling my 2015 R3T. I'm turning 77 this coming January and the weight of the beast is getting to be just a little bit much to handle. I have some balance issues and a kind of a visual vertigo thing, but it doesn't seem to affect me riding or...

Driveshaft Lube . . near miss....

Wow! That is dry. As for dark and smelly, it's always that way. I have change mine 3 or 4 times with BelRay full synthetic and it always come out dark and smelly...but then again, not so much the last time.

    Cruise control

The best and safest one on the market IMHO. It does require resizing the shoulder on the stock grip slightly, but that can be done with a little ingenuity. I might have had to modify the bracket/tab for the front brake release, but I can't recall as it was a long time ago.

    Bad Voltage Regulator ...OR?

Yes I do, plus all my lights are LED so less current there as well.

    Bad Voltage Regulator ...OR?

As a follow up comment on the question I ask about charging voltage...I got in contact with Roadstercycle about buying a new regulator to try. I explained some of my charging results and got a quick reply from Jack Fleming who I believe owns the the site. He said he routinely bench tests all...

    Cooling fan not working

In regards to not being on the forum much, I guess I kind of got away from it with much of it being about the new Rocket 3's. I need to check in more and read about these kinds of problems.

    Cooling fan not working

I carry a Triumph stock starter relay and one of the other relays all the time. I have for years just in case. Just about any auto parts relay would get you by in a pinch but was never sure if they have a protect diode.

    Cooling fan not working

Why don't you just pull the fan relay, make a jumper wire with a spade connector on it and plug it into the empty relay slot (pin 8) that has a blue/white wire connected to it. That wire goes directly to the fan. Put the other end of your jumper wire on your battery. The fan should run. If...
