Thanks Warp, your advice is always appreciated. I don't have a scope and I'm really starting to move toward selling the bike. Scott

    2011 R3T Transmission issue 49k miles

Anybody interested in buying a bike with transmission problems? Not sure I want to put the money into a 10 year old bike. I love riding the Rocket, but she's a fickle mistress. Thinking about trading the Roadmaster in for a Challenger in the spring. They don't have the shear grunt of the...

    2011 R3T Transmission issue 49k miles

A couple of months ago I had 4th gear start slipping anytime I gave her a little throttle. Felt kinda like a loose chain slipping links. I was laid off and didn't feel like wrenching in TX heat, so I've let her sit. Well it's a cool weekend and I decided to drop the sump. There's virtually no...

Anybody been to the 2020 IMS?

I saw the list but they've done a poor job of listing all the vendors in the past so I was hoping...

Anybody been to the 2020 IMS?

Last time I went was about 3 years ago. Got a Triumph wristband, poster and filled out a survey for market research. You'd think that they would want to show off this year. WTF  Now I'm not sure if it's worth the trouble.

Anybody been to the 2020 IMS?

Does Triumph have a 2.5 R3 in their booth? The show is in Dallas this weekend and I'm considering going if I'll get a chance to put my hands on one. I can't find any press release about it. Thanks, Scott

    Rockets aren't for everyone...

I bought my first bike site unseen. But, knew it was a beginner bike I'd be trading in. I go to demo days whenever I can. The rides are too short to fall in love, but you can get a feel of it will be a fit. My first time on a Rocket was the day I bought it. The dealership was 2 hours from...

2020 Indian Challenger engine details revealed

Got my test ride on a Challenger today. :) Very nice! For a faired, hard bagged, Vtwin cruiser; the thing pulls hard. It Seriously has some balls. No, it wont outrun my R3 with Ramair & D&Ds; but HDs with 'hot' cams aren't going to touch this thing. Indian knocked it out of the park.

103 would still get you admittance into an "elite club" from another mfg. And cost you big $$$. @Dr.D is right. If you're looking for BIG power at moderate cost on a big bike; you're looking for another Rocket. :) I get it though. I'm still tempted to sell my RM and buy a low mileage 18"...

Today's the official release date. 2020 Indian Challenger Motorcycle | Indian Motorcycle I'm pretty sure I know what I'm going to replace my RM with in a few years. :) I've always been fond of the Road Glide Ultra and figured that one would end up in my garage at some point in time (Not with...

2020 Indian Challenger engine details revealed

Like the new R3-TFC; I'm excited about the future models of this bike. A liquid cooled, full dresser with those performance numbers, from an American manufacturer is good news. I'd love to see an American competitor for the Goldwing or BMW Grand America. Hopefully with better styling than the...

    The famous starter click

Man; this is part of what makes this such a frustrating issue. I ride all winter as long as the roads are dry and the temp is above 30. (TX winter is barely winter at all) I had a battery give up the ghost about 4 years ago during cold weather. Other than that my bike starts all winter without...

As long as it can read a plate number within 30 yards or so and I don't have to remember to keep it charged I'm good with it overwriting.

    The famous starter click

Just a FYI; I had more trouble with my starter clicking when I had the 1.4kw motor installed. I recently added a 2nd positive cable (already had 2 negative cables) and switched back to the 1.2kw motor. My starter has only clicked once since doing that (very hot motor) and it started right up...
