For Sale Wompus Rack for RIII Standard/Classic. $100

Wompus Rack for RIII Standard/Classic, pretty sure this also fits Roadster. The Wompus rack is an aftermarket rear rack. I used it to mount a Givi top box, but can be used to mount just about anything to the back of your Rocket III. It has a couple holes from the box mount, but no damage and is...

    Worlds most dangerous road?

I think that's in Pakistan. Yungas is a little wider (trucks actually pass on it), but probably has had more fatalities due to more traffic. India has some terrifying roads as well.

    The dreaded final drive drip....

Ok - I bought a replacement drain bolt, $14, FFS! Odd thing it has no washer or o-ring. Is that correct, or do I need to get anything else?

    The dreaded final drive drip....

Ok - I cleaned everything off, and after two days of sitting, there is about 1/4 of a drop congregating along the bottom edge of the drain bolt. I'm guessing this is good news compared to oil coming out of the rectangular vent or some other junction. I very carefully tested the bolt, it's not...

    The dreaded final drive drip....

Looks like it might be the drain bolt, I wiped it clean so I can get a better idea. I've had the bike for a little over a year, and no one has touched the drain in that time, odd that it would start leaking now.

    The dreaded final drive drip....

I just discovered a very slight leak from my '07's final drive, right off the bottom, it lands right next to the tire. It's only leaked a few drops at this point. Can someone clarify some issues for me? Does this mean a failure is eminent, or is the risk of failure solely due to leaking to the...

Quebec motorcyclest caught doing 185 kph

Yeah, I was leaving work in Plantation and took a shortcut through a residential area to get to the turnpike. A lot of people have found the shortcut now and the residents complained. Pretty sure they've nabbed people for 50+ as well. PPD motorjockey, he was professional and easy going, he let...

Quebec motorcyclest caught doing 185 kph

Orwell wasn't as far-fetched as we thought. The go-to-jail threshold in Florida is 50mph over (not unreasonable, actually). I recently got nabbed for 38 in a 25, so I'm being a little more careful. I can afford the attorney, but don't want to bugger my insurance rate.

Fast idle problem - 07 RIII

No joy. Mechanic replaced the TPS, adjusted, ran 12 minute tune. Bike was perfect until it got to full temp, then back the 2000rpm idle. Ideas?

Fast idle problem - 07 RIII

Thanks for the replies, I'll do the TPS and get the cable. A couple more questions... Best source for the cable? Where do I (or my mechanic) get the software? While am at it, with a stock exhaust, etc. is there any more cheap or free HP to be had via tune?

Fast idle problem - 07 RIII

Hi guys, My 2007 started idling too fast (2k+) when hot, particularly in traffic - note bike is stock . I've done some research, but there doesn't seem to be any definite fix. I removed and cleaned the crank angle sensor, and ran the 12-minute tune, seemed to run better, but didn't fix it...

    Coolant dribble

A small pinhole can be fixed, if you have a shop that knows what they're doing. While I did ride mine some while it was leaking, I didn't take any trips, for fear of having it let go and stranding me.

    Battery Service Life ?

I've always heard that while battery problems manifest in winter, the hot weather is actually what did the damage.... http://corporate.interstatebatteries.com/heat_kills_batteries/
