  1. Speedo Accuracy ( Or lack thereof)

Yes, you're correct. I think 6% was the number that corrected it on the dyno.
  2. Feb 14th, 2009 PigR9 provided the below results, how so??

I had an under the tank K&N (one of the early intake mods). I think Wayne ran triple foam Uni's on his bikes. He's in Australia, I'm in the US. You're talking a 5% difference between what he got and what I got. Two bikes setup identical and run on the same dyno can vary that much or more.
  3. Feb 14th, 2009 PigR9 provided the below results, how so??

As I stated those were the dyno results reported by Wayne (the creator of tuneboy). He used an Eddy Current dyno if I remember correctly. They may be a couple points high but should be ballpark. I think his results were SAE corrected. I got into the low 140's with some of his canned tunes, I...
  4. Top Speed of Stock Rocket.

A few years ago I figured top speed for a stock rocket using max RPMs, tire size, 5th gear ratio, and final drive ratio (not considering wind resistance) and it was 179.3 mph.
  5. Two new special edition Triumphs

That color scheme is very fine.....
  6. Picked up a new used bike.

Doesn't do anything for me without any pics. I know you own a camera or two, so there are no excuses.
  7. A Little History - .com and .net

I cringed when I saw the title of this thread. (Shawn I know you did too:D) While we all have Rocket's in common, I think the bike attracts Type A personalities. And when you get a couple of sites full of Type A's, there are going to be some fireworks but there are going to also be some good...
  8. Air Ram

I sorry you two (Warp and TP) are upset about Art. He should be able to post but may not be able to send pm's. He has been given at least three opportunities to follow the rules and (more importantly) act decent to others. Though the last infraction was for a violation regarding not being a...
  9. Celebrity Bike

Welcome. I remember a thread on here about that bike a few years ago. Here's another shot of it:
  10. Harleys and premium gas

With dual plug heads I don't think there is an issue with incomplete ignition. My dilemma is that the only non-ethanol gas is only sold in premium. So do I run 10% ethanol or premium? I figure I am better off with premium.
  11. Harleys and premium gas

I always thought it was because they run so hot that they needed premium which is less likely to cause detonation.
  12. Zard exhausts

The first one that they came out with which was a flat muffler that sat in front of the rear wheel was a chunk of crap. The "carbon fiber" on the muffler came off and the system was proven on a dyno to decrease hp over the stock system. I think all of that info was on the Triumphrat.net site.
  13. sealing exhaust

Definitely get the copper infused stuff and let it set up for 24 hours before starting the bike or you will blow it out the exhaust.
  14. Baxter's Cycle Open House

Will be there Friday to Sunday with toystoretom.
  15. Broken heated grip again

    The cable mounts are plastic?
  16. I need an Upgrade on an 07

At one time they were doing them left and right. Not so much now. I would call Baxter Cycles in Marne, IA. They did several and mine was done 18 months outside of the warranty and they also took care of headgasket leak and replaced output shaft.
  17. o2 sensor + low throttle/revs pick up.

If you are in Brazil, your gas is different than anywhere else in the world. Triumph loads tunes specific to your country because of the ethanol. I would be cautious using tunes made from bikes using petroleum based gas. Get a dyno tune and do it right.
  18. o2 sensor + low throttle/revs pick up.

I think that tune was done with a bike that had triple filters. That tune is likely too rich for your setup. You need a dyno tune with a pciii installed or get a pc5. Adjusting it yourself is just shooting in the dark.
  19. popping on decelleration

It is caused by lean condition at zero throttle openings. This can be corrected with tuneboy, tunecu, pc etc. Make note of the rpm ranges it is occurring at and add fuel. Here is a thread on it. Link Removed
  20. I put toooo much oil in the engine!!
