    winter handguards for 06

So where I live, the lowest temps here are between 20-12F (-11 - -7C). I have been riding in sub-freezing temps for quite a while now but until now I have been riding an ADV bike with nice handguards, fairings, and an adjustable windshield. Wearing my "standard" cold weather outfit has kept me...

    winter handguards for 06

I have been into the R/C hobby for a bit over 20 years now and have a ton of different-sized batteries lying around. I was considering wiring them up for a lipo battery I can charge every day or two. What gets me is the cost of the wired gloves and then the cost of the wiring and/or the controller.

Which ones do you use? They are single point mount so they have some wiggle room. I have moved them a bit with the Hippo Hands on and found a happy spot. The issue I have is that they are open at the end and bulged out because the mirrors. I wouldnt mind spending the $ on battery-heated gloves...

    winter handguards for 06

I have them adjusted so they are nowhere near the levers. So dragging shouldnt be a problem. As for heated gloves, they are too expensive for me right now. Gloves, plugs, and harness is just too much right now.

    winter handguards for 06

Well, the temps have ok for the last few weeks so I have been riding with the barkbusters and going fine. Last few nights have dipped into the mid30s and I can really appreciate the HippoHands. After about 30 minutes into my ride, my fingers still start to go numb and by the time I get to work...

    winter handguards for 06

@Tripps I took your advice and ordered a pair of the backcountry. The weather I am riding in no longer allows for snow but it sure does get cold on the 45 min to 1 hr ride to work when its below 40 outside.

    winter handguards for 06

Any of the models that you recommend? Mind you, I am not running in snow/sub-freezing temps anymore, just cold enough to keep the fingers frozen after 40 minutes of riding. The backcountry looks to be exactly what I am looking for.

    winter handguards for 06

Alight, I have spent my fair share of time riding in sub-freezing temperatures in Colorado on my Vstrom. But now that I am back in the South, even with my insulated gloves, anything below 40, and my fingers are killing me before I get to work. I have enough gear to keep me nice and toasty well...

Okay gents, I have spent a bit over 1,200 miles this last weekend riding to the tail of the dragon, roads made for cruising, roads made for 4WD vehicles, and everything in between. The trip was amazing although I have to say the dragon is a good road, the area around it was what made the trip...

Question, Does your stepper motor make noise? When you turn the key on, does it make noise as it actuates back and forth, waiting for the bike to start? I just cleaned mine again and noticed it was making a fair amount of noise compared to what it was (or what I remember).

So I left the stepper on, cleaned it and sprayed it. But when using the TuneEcu, to get to the correct voltage, I have to loosen it until there is no tension on the spring, and its a little loose. It wouldn't idle turned all the way out (with the correct voltage) so I tightened it back until...

I will spray everything again. I am going to pop the tank and dump everything and swap injectors when I get back but I dont have time to deal with it right now.

Im talking about when I am pulling away or I am letting it sit and idle. I dont ride below 2k. Take idling for example, if i start it and let it sit, it idles around 850-950 and then it starts to run rich and drops to 600-700 and then dies.

Ok, well I put a few hours on the bike and finished buttoning up the rest of the parts. She seems to be fine but every once in a while it seems to get too rich in the low RPMs (under 1,500) and bogs. No rhyme or reason. So I think its either a bit of bad gas or a fuel injector that is upset...

I think we are riding up on Thursday, hit up TOD on friday so its not too busy, Saturday they want to go whitewater rafting, and then sunday we can ride all day. But I believe we are staying about 40min south of that area in a camper one of them is pulling up.

I have lived in lots of different places around the country and I really do love South Carolina. The winter isnt too cold, the summers are hot but not for too long, and the spring and summer are perfect. But @Jag has it correct, the humidity is a real b*tch.

Well, she runs and drives again! There are still some issues that I need to take care of such as a slow oil leak from the oil filter, top off the radiator fluid, and add some other pieces back on like the bags, and pannels. And the poor fuel issue is still there at low rpm until I start riding...
