    Is it Fast?

My usual response to "Is it fast?" is to simply state "It is fast." My brother in law asked how big the engine was. I said 2.5 liters. Not having fully processed what I'd said, he asked how much that was in CC. I paused before answering, and could see the realization hit him.

Rear brake all soft and no fluid spills

A temporary fix is to bleed the rear brake yourself if you're comfortable doing that.

    Tailbag Recommendation

I use a Saddlemen TR2300DE. Plenty of space (for me) for a night or two, and fits on either the rack or the pillion.

    New Battery

I put in a Motobatt MHTX16 hybrid lithium / AGM. It outputs the correct voltage (unlike most lithium batteries) and can be charged with a standard charger.

    Question concerning pull

    Yep.

    Burnt on fabric softener!

Dryer balls. Preferably wool, not plastic.

Crash bars, engine guards, sliders Rocket 3 R/ GT

Those are nicely done. Even better if highway pegs can be mounted to them.

    R3GT/R Windscreens - A Review of Three

I came to the same conclusion. After comparing the stock flyscreen and a Madstad, I returned the Madstad and left the flyscreen off.

    Which helmet?

I have an Arai DT-X which was apparently discontinued immediately upon having bought it. Can't even get face shields for it - thankfully I have a spare.

    Unhappy wife

Same (mostly). My wife couldn't sit on the stock pillion seat for more than a few minutes. The Corbin setup allows her to ride for a couple hours. The stock pillion pegs are now the limiting factor - which unfortunately isn't as easily solved.

    low fuel warning

That wasn't riding. That was rolling with style.

Speedometer is off by around 10%

I've never owned any vehicle - two wheels or four - that didn't read high. Used to be you could get the speedo calibrated if you really cared, such as if you put different sized tires and were trying to get out of a speeding ticket.

    New Rear brake bleed procedure?

I have to wonder, for how long? Many of the fixes I've heard of don't seem to last any longer than having just done a normal bleed. If that's really a permanent fix, I'm in.

    Foot pegs

Agreed. I refer to it as a "giant naked sportbike", rather than a "power cruiser". I have to think that Triumph is considering a touring-oriented bike based on a tweaked 2500 case and different chassis, but may be reluctant to risk cannibalizing sales of the GT without taking market share from...

    Flyscreen options?

I went through the same dance when I got my R3GT. With the same outcome - I now leave the flyscreen off entirely.

The ONE thing that I don't like.

I do wish the button was a little more tactile. Just a little bump or click you could feel when you activate or cancel. I also end up hitting the horn accidentally when I'm going for the turn signal.

Those who have more than one bike

I find that each bike speaks to me, or doesn't, in ways unrelated to numbers and specifications. But also I didn't buy the Rocket because of the big engine. I replaced two bikes - a Speedmaster and a Sprint ST - with one that filled both of those roles for me.

    Passenger seat

Not to threadjack, but I would love to know more about what you did for the pillion pegs.

    Passenger seat

My wife was very uncomfortable on the stock pillion, and the wobbly stock backrest as well. She's much happier with the Corbin Dual Tour and backrest. Even still she doesn't know that she could take a full day's ride. Her remaining issue though has more to do with legroom than seat comfort.

When is the best time to sell/trade-in a motorcycle?

Recent used car market insanity aside, all vehicles depreciate. The rate of depreciation slows over time and mileage. The steepest depreciation occurs the moment you drive/ride off the lot. Over the same amount of time, a newer vehicle will lose more value than an older vehicle. Whenever you...
