    Top speed issue

You guys are hooligans. I spend most of my time down low playing with torque in the twisties, which I love. I hit 100, 110 (maybe once), and then back off. 164 is insane- for me, anyway. Still, for me, the twisties are where the real fun happens.

Road gas tank down to 1 mile left

Just be aware that the fuel pump is submerged in gas and that acts as a coolant for the pump- this advice coming from someone who went 1/8 mile too far past "0" and had to jump off the bike, in the rain, while still coasting to push it up and over an overpass, then coast down, luckily, into a...

Woolich Racing one of Pros in tuning world has released product for Rocket 2.5

Maps can only do so much- yes, of course. No one is expecting super charger results, or even anywhere close, from a tune. What it does is successfully de-restrict all the already available power built-in to the Rocket

Woolich Racing one of Pros in tuning world has released product for Rocket 2.5

This is regarding Penner's Tune From @Neville Lush (see post #639) https://www.r3owners.net/threads/free-unrestricted-maps-for-rocket-r-gt-and-tfc-now-online.46009/post-785618

Woolich Racing one of Pros in tuning world has released product for Rocket 2.5

I'm no expert on TuneECU and had trouble loading the Penner tune at first, so you could no doubt teach me there. Sounds like you got it and are simply unimpressed. For me it wasn't like when I rebuilt my Roadster with a Lush kit, but a no doubt about it change in performance in throttle response...

Woolich Racing one of Pros in tuning world has released product for Rocket 2.5

I have no statistical results- that would require a dyno and from my perspective- why? Those who know how to make sense of the fuel tables will surely chime in with data based evidence. I wonder if you successfully loaded that map.

Oil sweating next to kick stand??

My bad, Radek. I had a 2011 Roadster and of course the design is different from the 2.5s. As someone else said the valve cover gasket may be your culprit. Unfortunately, I’ve been away from that bike too long to offer any other suggestions. Check that first and, if not, others will be along with...

Woolich Racing one of Pros in tuning world has released product for Rocket 2.5

I'm not sure that I agree, or maybe understand. If you mean the gain of a custom tune following the Penner Tune, then maybe/probably yes. But the Penner Tune is a tune and I found it made a very noticeable difference and not just at high rpm. The stock tune also greatly restricts at low RPM so a...

    Negative cable location.

Look at the top of this page for "Resources." You'll find the service manual there. That should help. https://www.r3owners.net/resources/2020-rocket-3-r-gt-manual-searchable-by-keyword.51/

    Newbie wanting to purchase r3!

I agree- I picked that because of the 20k service interval, which is costly. There are many below that many miles because people are afraid of the power. That's how I got mine at less than 300 miles. Roxanne is now at 46k, never in a shop except for the rear brake MC recall, and going strong.

0 - 15K. Not uncommon.... FYI - the 20 and 40K mile services are big ones, unless you do it yourself... https://www.r3owners.net/threads/a-look-at-the-2-5-innards-diy-20k-mile-service-including-valve-clearance-check-and-shim-replacement.51206/

    Newbie wanting to purchase r3!

There is going to be little real difference between years other than cosmetics, so I'd focus mostly on low miles. Fun fact is that most for sale will have very low miles, as people think they want a bike like this and then find that it's too much for them. I have a red 2020 R3- the fastest...

Update on my dud of a rocket.

The clutch switch is tied in with a whole load of things. I discovered that years back when the fuel level on my Roadster stopped working, and that also happened once on my 2.5, but I've never heard of it causing an issue with the venting of the tank. Is that what happened with yours @zenbiker ...

Anyone in Northern California with the Werkes exhaust installed?

I had one for a while. It was too loud for me, even with the baffles, but other people seem to love theirs. I do a bit of distance riding when I can, and even with ear plugs and a quiet helmet the sound would wear on me. I'm saving my pennies for @Paul Bryant Viking Exhaust. He has different...

Question about Noise while releasing clutch

Seen it a "million" times, but I think (memory ?) it routes up and over the filter and then points down.... Your bike is cleaner than mine

2025 rocket 3 prolonged occasional starting.

The o rings in the gear position sensor are a common cause of leaks- not enough to drip under the bike, but while it's running and it blows on the engine where it burns off slowly. It's super easy to check with a 10mm socket. https://www.r3owners.net/threads/2-5-using-oil.53395/

2025 rocket 3 prolonged occasional starting.

Mine uses oil too- no smoke or leaks, but doesn’t have that starting issue, for what it’s worth.
