    New memeber

Greetings from sunny North Texas. I don't know that I've ever heard that a Rocket 3 is a 'starter' bike. Congrats for surviving this long.

    2013 custom roadster tune (help)

Have you looked at the custom tunes available on the TuneECU website? There should be some starting point tune you can try for your ECU (make sure they match). It will require a cable if you use TuneECU to reprogram. To get the absolute limit of what the motor will do a dyno tuner and a river...

Stalling Issues on 2025 Rocket 3R

I've never experienced a stall coming to a stop, taking off from one yes (see Drat thread). My habit from riding the Triumphs in my garage has been to shift into neutral from 2nd and coast to a stop. I live in DFW area and stop lights can be a fairly long wait, I prefer not to hold the clutch...

    Engine light staying on

The 04 version requires a chip enabled cable to make any changes (unless that's changed too). Worth the money to get TuneECU so you can do diagnostics.

Hello from Arizona USA, Rocket 3 Chrome

Welcome from sunny North Texas. If you think that's a hoot, unrestrict the throttle. The factory map for SPORT only allows you 76% of what's actually available.

    Drat

I was able to pick up my 05 Rocket solo the couple times it fell over. The last time was 2017. This GT version doesn't have the grab points my old Standard had, but fortunately I moved from rural Kansas to DFW area so there's always someone around willing to stop and help an old geezer right...

MAP and or Air Pressure sensor fault

Feeler guage will work. If you don't have a metric set a .020 inch feeler is close enough. Once you're got the gap set, then use TuneECU to open the stepper motor and then adjust that nut until the primary TPS reads 0.72 volts +/- 0.005 volts.

MAP and or Air Pressure sensor fault

My manual says that the idle stepper arm nut should be tightened until a 0.5mm clearance can be measured between the idle control cam and the throttle roller. When the stepper motor is fully OPEN (using TuneECU or dealer tool) the voltage should read 0.72 volts from the primary throttle...

Now owing Rocket 3, how do you tolerate other bikes? What would your next bike be?

Pretty much. I bought my first new Triumph in 1999 and got hooked. It was a 1200 Trophy: Put almost 50K miles on that bike.

    R vs GT

Here's the thing about riding position. The R is a Roadster so the pegs are set at the mid position with handlebars that will tilt you into the breeze. It's a sportier riding position. The GT has forwards that are adjustable to 3 different positions, and the bars are closer to the rider...
