  4. OIL

I remember on one of my trips to and from Phillip Island for the bike races, we stopped at a small garage for petrol and a bite to eat. One of my mates wanted to get some oil, and where we were sitting in the cafe there was a big sign on the wall advertising "Vernalis Oil". The girl serving...

  6. R3 Life Span

Like JohnC, had the same clutch problem at 5,000kms with my R3T, 10 weeks to get the parts. My Valkyrie has 120,000kms and has never let me down. Still, I am off to Phillip Island for the GP in October, on the R3T, and back home via the Great Ocean Road, Murray Bend, Swan Reach, Renmark, then...

I am looking at getting a pair of Progressive 440's for the R3T. Does anyone know the matching length, the sizes are 11.4", 12", 12.5" and 13". I thought the 12.5" would be the match, am I right? Thanks...

  11. Rivco Risers for R3T - found a longer clutch cable

The cable arrived... OK the cable arrived and it looks great and the length perfect. I got started on the cable changeover when to my horror found that the tech that last worked on my clutch put it all back together without any backlash tension on the lifter arm. So I had to pull the bloody...

  13. Rivco Risers for R3T - found a longer clutch cable

As far as I am concerned the only way to route the clutch cable on the R3T after installing the Rivco Risers is the standard method, in front of the headstock not behind. Routing the cable the correct way will avoid cable damage and pinching. For this reason I have sourced a longer cable. The...
  14. Tune boy questions. Help needed

Tuneboy is the way to go... It won't be one use, try doing something electrical on the bike and then have the bloody ECU error light on. Without a Tuneboy you will have to drive to a dealer to reset the error. Mine has saved me plenty of petrol in that regard.
  15. R3T Clutch Rattle Noise

Got the R3T back after two weeks. They pulled it down and inspected the clutch and could not find any problem at all. Put it all back together and bunged it on the dyno to check it out. Called me on the phone and said the bike is all ok. No clutch problem could be found. So I picked her up...

  17. "Quarantined" R3Ts

That's great new that you are getting you tyres replaced... Talked to my dealer (Bikebiz at Parramatta) yesterday and they still say they know nothing about the recall, seems strange that some dealers in Aus are informed with one carrying out the replacement and others know nothing about it...
  18. Recalls for 08 Rocket III Touring...How many?

Yes, I would... I got an email from a chap I was discussing the issue with on this forum and he had the same problem and it was found to be the clutch basket bearing being to loose on the sleeve. I took a copy of the email with me when I took the bike in.
  19. Recalls for 08 Rocket III Touring...How many?

Just a bit, enough to take up the slack thats all.
  20. Recalls for 08 Rocket III Touring...How many?

The bike developed a strange noise on the way back from Phillip Island SBK. Happened at about the 4000k point. The noise sounded like a washer rattling on a shaft and occurred between 80k and 100k in top gear and at lower speeds in lower gears. When I took up the tension with the clutch lever...
