    Drat

I was able to pick up my 05 Rocket solo the couple times it fell over. The last time was 2017. This GT version doesn't have the grab points my old Standard had, but fortunately I moved from rural Kansas to DFW area so there's always someone around willing to stop and help an old geezer right...

MAP and or Air Pressure sensor fault

Feeler guage will work. If you don't have a metric set a .020 inch feeler is close enough. Once you're got the gap set, then use TuneECU to open the stepper motor and then adjust that nut until the primary TPS reads 0.72 volts +/- 0.005 volts.

    Rocket 3 review by Spike

As in all things, "follow the money," if you want to know why people do what they do.

MAP and or Air Pressure sensor fault

My manual says that the idle stepper arm nut should be tightened until a 0.5mm clearance can be measured between the idle control cam and the throttle roller. When the stepper motor is fully OPEN (using TuneECU or dealer tool) the voltage should read 0.72 volts from the primary throttle...

Now owing Rocket 3, how do you tolerate other bikes? What would your next bike be?

Pretty much. I bought my first new Triumph in 1999 and got hooked. It was a 1200 Trophy: Put almost 50K miles on that bike.

    R vs GT

Here's the thing about riding position. The R is a Roadster so the pegs are set at the mid position with handlebars that will tilt you into the breeze. It's a sportier riding position. The GT has forwards that are adjustable to 3 different positions, and the bars are closer to the rider...

Hi. Been riding my 3r for 18 months now. Also got a cbf 1000.

That stuff, (if it's what I'm thinking), was probably put in as an automatic wheel balancer (a sorta liquid dynabeads). That indicates you have a tire problem if its sprayed all over the back of your bike, as it's supposed to be a tire sealant too for small punctures.

    Asymmetrical front tire wear

Sounds like it's time to call Hinckley and get a definitive answer. Anyone got their number (and willing to make the call)?

    DNA or OEM Air Filter?

Probably a smart move. The intake air flow isn't a huge factor until you change the exhaust (which you did). If you go with a lower restriction intake filter that may require a remap since the adaptation only goes so far (usually). I haven't been into the 2.5's long enough to get a handle on...

    backfire on a r3 possible?

No worries, we like all kinda bikes. For example, my garage looks like this: The big red one is a Rocket 3.

    backfire on a r3 possible?

Your bike probably already has decel pop you can't hear with a stock muffler. Gen 1, 2015 and it's a 321cc YZF Yamaha by the sound of it.

    Windshield

Google Translate: Skontroloval si, či bude štít GT pasovať na R? Ak nie, Madstad alebo Dart pravdepodobne majú malú sieťku proti hmyzu, ktorá by mohla fungovať. Have you checked the GT shield if it will fit the R? If not Madstad or Dart probably has a small flyscreen that might work.

MAP and or Air Pressure sensor fault

One thing you might also take a gander at is the crank angle sensor. It's on the bottom of the motor and held in with a single screw/bolt. Pull that and clean any oil off it then reinstall and see if the bike changes behavior for the better.

    What an amazing bike!!

Glad you're getting on with your new wheels. Once you get the mids on it will probably take a pry bar to get you off the thing.

For Sale Hate to do it, but there comes a time

Drain the gas and oil out, polish it up and it's instant art. I bought a XS650 from a guy over in Dallas years ago, and he had a 71 Kawasaki H2 750 in his living room. He drained the oil and gas out, polished it up and made it a show piece (he took it out once a year for a ride tho, he said).
