Another Exhaust Thread (Vandemon Headers) with Installation Pictures

Upon further investigation into the exhaust pipe making contact with the curved plastic piece (drag link bracket) which also serves as the top mount I have concluded that it'll just have to stay that way, moving anything any which way would only create problems. That bracket, #11 in the diagram...

Same here on the pricing but once I received the product and got to appreciate the craftsmanship followed how they sound and look in real life I have zero regrets.

Another Exhaust Thread (Vandemon Headers) with Installation Pictures

This being my first time installing an exhaust I have figured out a few things and my initial impression of the sound was due to these factors: 1) The clamps were not as tight as they should have been. The manual seems to default to 10Nm for any clamps, even the ones on the rubber intake...

I've gone back and re-tightened the clamps twice so far. Before the first ride this morning and again before another this evening. Seems like as I ride and things settle into place that is necessary, the clamp on the headers was actually just snug when I checked it this afternoon and after...

If you'd like I can help you with getting the Penner tune flashed, I have everything required and it's actually pretty straight forward. You don't live too far away so let me know.

I must say that this exhaust is louder than I expected,:D even stock to aftermarket side by side YT videos don't convey what one actually gets. Maybe the size of the cans implies a tamer sound but don't get me wrong, I love it. Of course all that racket emanating more or less directly below my...

It's finished and the beast finally sounds like it rides and looks. I've only let it run for a few minutes since it's late but holy sheet it sounds good. The arrow in the pic points to where the exhaust is sitting right up against the center support but I don't think it's avoidable becasue...

I dry fitted everything without clamps or compound and all fits well. @chadster54321 had issues with fitting the forward mounting bolt of the right muffler because the bolt needs to be pushed through from the inside out due to the shape of the muffler and welds preventing the long bolt from...

Removing the existing cat was very simple. There was a white mark on the O2 sensor nut and I counted 3 turns for removal as per manual but I don't quite understand the purpose for this as the sensor is tight at 3 turns. Maybe it's about the cable twisting and I need to spin it the other way 3...

Yes I've had the Penner tune for a few months now and it felt like riding a new bike after flashing. Triumph won't see my bike again for a while, I just did the 10k service myself, but if they do they will be under strict orders to not mess with the ECU. I might even find a way to lock up that...

My exhaust arrived today, no instructions because how hard can it really be, so I'll follow our maintenance manual's directions for all torque values. Everything came packaged extremely well in expanding foam packing cradling each plastic wrapped component gently in it's sturdy box. One does not...

    2.5 using oil

Now I have another set of new o-rings and the Permatex goop is setting up. I applied it to the sensor around the black plastic housing behind the o-rings so when I re-installed it the o-rings got pushed into the opening with the goop behind it effectively trapping the goop between o-rings and...

    2.5 using oil

After riding stick your finger up underneath that side cover on the left and you'll be able to feel the sensor and one of the bolts. If it's greasy/oily then that would be it and it only seeps out when the bike is running and cooks off on the hot case.

    2.5 using oil

I'm no engineer but have done enough mechaniking in my life to know a bad design when I see it. The case joints are all sealed with gaskets that compress when torqued down to provide a proper seal. Then Triumph decides to put not one but two o-rings at the lowest part of the bike obviously...

    2.5 using oil

It's leaking again so I'll be doing this once more. Since @Journeyman sent me an extra pair of o-rings I'll use those and this time I'm using goop on the flat surfaces of the gear position indicator. Don't know much about goop but the Permatex black oil resistant RTV gasket maker seems like a...

Those leave scratches even on stainless so that's a no no. Someone had mentioned oven cleaner in the past I think and I have one of those magic eraser pads somewhere.
