ok Fellas, I got it open , soaking it with a light oil and working it back and forth with key in lock holding pressure down on key and grabbing key with pliers working back and forth careful not to twist key, now im looking for a non locking gas cap that will fit the r3 classic
I know the right person will see this post and have an answere, or different ideas, my next option is to destroy the whole cap and install different one ,
bought it new in 2008. its been working fine , but it has been sitting up all summer, im guessing its the humidity got kinda rusted up , but if it wont open I don't know what to do other then drill it out, been working key in and out and letting it soak with some oil,i might have to take off...

yes bagman thanks , i will check all that , this weekend , i did test the regulater/rectifier and one tested bad so i bought a used one , but i will check these other things you mentioned,, i do remember one time i left driving lights on and it wouldnt start so i got a jump and the guy started...
in the manual it says use diode mode on multimeter to check regulater/rectifier, the question is do i do this with the battery cables connected to battery or dis connected, it is not real clear..... nevermind im a dumbass
Yes i have thought about bringing back to original state and i could do it but it would cost me a new wiring harnes which i can find at pinnwall cycle parts for a reasonable price , the problem is getting to all the little plugs getting them apart and plugging in the new one sounds easy , but...

no i havent done that, why would swapping relays make a difference ? dont have the coupler, i orderd the rocket specific relays which dont have a coupler it came with H 4 plugs which install inside the headlight bowles
