    It would be good to see the 2011 schematic - sounds like a few changes from the previous gen. But as you discovered (& proved), principle is the same for your 2011 as long as you follow the correct config for the OEM relay connections regarding the poles and the coil.

    I PM'd you with some emergency info that is not safe to post publicly. If I was going on a trip however, would advise better to bite the bullet, remove the switch and repair (typically re-solder the wire/pad) before you leave.

    I agree headlight power relay kit is an extremely positive attribute - have them on all my bikes and am huge advocate for that. But there is no reason this cannot be used in conjuntion with that.
