  1. which seat to use????

I can tell you that my longhaul seat is OK on my recently purchased 2012 Touring but the Russell seat I had on my BMW was by far the most comfortable seat I've ever had. It won't take me long to send my longhaul seat to Russell for conversion. The Russell site has some photos of their seat on...
  2. Suspension questions

Thanks. I just placed the order for the Hagons. I asked the guy at British Customs to check on the part number for Progressive shocks for both the Roadster and the Touring. The part number was the same so we figured the Hagon shocks for the Roadster would work for my Touring.
  3. Suspension questions

Is your bike the Touring? I just heard that Hagon appearantly hasn't done any R&D on the Touring and they only sell for the Standard.
  4. Suspension questions

I just read an article that said changing the preload does not make the ride smoother or stiffer. What it does is level the bike for the intended weight (so that the headlight doesn't point to the sky when you put a passenger and luggage on) and it changes the amount of travel before the bike...
  5. Suspension questions

I set the shocks on my new Rocket Touring at 3. The ride feels harsh. Regardless of number of riders/luggage, which direction would make the ride softer? I'm assuming towards 1. Second question: What after market shocks have people put on and how did they help? Thanks.
  6. Windshield hardware

Thanks. This is what I need.
  7. Windshield hardware

My new rocket came with the sixteen inch shield. I want to get a taller one from clear view and easily switch from one to another. Where do I get the chrome hardware to put on the extra shield? I don't see where triumph sells it.
  8. Where's neutral?

So much for problems finding neutral. Put a couple of hundred miles on today and now it falls into neutral very easily. Love the bike.
  9. Tight cable

I just rotated the bars down a little and got a little bit of slack in the cable. Not much, but makes me feel a little more comfortable about waiting til the first service to have it rerouted. And the bars feel a lot better too, so a double win! Can't wait to put my first miles on it tomorrow.
  10. Tight cable

I think rerouting would work. Does your cable have any slack when you turn the bars fully?
  11. Tight cable

I just brought home my new 2012 Touring. I've already posted one question and now have another. And I suspect I'll have several more. But that's why these forums are so great. My question is this. I had the Rivco risers put on. The front brake cable has no slack in it when the bars are...
  12. Where's neutral?

I have the heel toe shifter. I've had Harleys so I'm used to having difficulty finding neutral. But with my Tbird and Bonneville it was never a problem, in fact it was quite easy.
  13. Where's neutral?

Here's what I meant. With the clutch pulled in, I put it in neutral. Then, with the clutch still pulled in, it won't go into gear. I have to first release the clutch and pull in back in in order to switch out of neutral. All this with the engine on.
  14. Where's neutral?

Just brought home my new 2012 Touring. Extremely difficult to find neutral. And on those rare occasions that I can find it, I have to disengage the clutch and then reengage it in order to shift out of neutral. Is this typical of a new Rocket?
  15. Wrong year

It looks like they have two new 2013's. For 2013, Triumph took ABS off the Rocket Touring. That was my problem. The 2011s and the 2013s didn't have ABS, only the 2012 (which Triumph never shipped to US dealers directly).
