    Should just update and say the 'leak' went away. Had a couple of rides since and no sign of anything. Dealer did phone to say it was just the protectant coming off. Thanks for your replies.

    Maybe it's not leather. Seems like a lot of trouble to go to if it's just vinyl though. What's it for exactly? Seems a random gift. Unwrapping it I was expecting some sort of badge / ornament.

    Along with the Triumph zip pouch containing all the usual hand/service books / keys etc. there was a carefully wrapped and packaged box containing a similarly carefully wrapped leather Triumph diary / organiser / not-quite-filofax thing. What's that all about? Seemed like a strange gift.

  8. clunky drive at low speed

    Still getting used to mine. I think the answer to slow speed clunkiness is to avoid riding slowly.... :D Speed limit is 100k here. I can now double that in a scarily short distance. Hope the novelty wears off. I'll have no licence left. :(

    My ten bike garage (the one in my head) would certainly include a nice HD. I've had quite a few. Easy to tinker with. Sound nice. Perfectly reliable too these days. Fine within their parameters. If I could only have one bike though....? Naaa. Wouldn't be a HD.

    Funny you should say that. He gave me my pre-ride pep talk. I'll email the pics to the dealer but, as said, I'll be back there soon enough for the first service so so long as it's not anything potentially serious I'll live with it. Thanks chaps.
