    Unfortunately my dads shop is about a 6 hour drive away in my hometown. So driving the bike there stuck in 2nd gear wasn't an option. If I had a truck and the time to drive it back that may be an option but I may just have to bite the bullet on this one.

    The shifter was actually pretty good up until the day it happened, I guess that retaining bolt must have been hanging on by the last few threads. After it happened of course I could rotate the shifter up until the pedal was almost vertical and little or no movement down.

    Driving into work one day my R3 stopped shifting gears. Turns out the retaining bolt circled in the attachment came loose and fell into the pan of the trans, luckily not damaging anything on its way through. My 2009 R3 had about 13,000 kms on it at the time. My shop is quoting 17 hours to...
