    Here's a couple of pics that show the additional wiring coming from the alarm unit. In have cut the plug and soldered it up and plugged it back in, and yes it works. Also, you were right DEcosse it had taken the fuse out again. One last question, my engine management light is still illuminated...

I'll check my fuses and post up the outcome here as soon as I get a chance it's nearly 10pm Scottish time now so it'll have to wait until tomorrow night after work.     Hi, I was out on the bike yesterday when it cut out and died on me. I got a strong smell of burned out electrical components and on investigation it turned out to be the Datatool alarm unit had burned itself out.
