    On/Off Switch 2020 GT.

Since at least April 12, 1972, the requirements in the CFR relating to this have not changed at all. It requires only that the supplementary engine stop ("kill switch") be located on the right handlebar, and that the ignition's off position be counterclockwise from other positions. (And no...

    On/Off Switch 2020 GT.

To expand on what Rockatansky said, the switch does nothing while the ECM isn't trying to activate the ignition relay. It only comes into play if the switch is turned off but the ECM is commanded (via the handlebar control) to activate the relay, at which point it only prevents the ECM from...

Rear Suspension Preload clicks or full turns?

I'd just use whatever number of clicks gets you to a laden sag that's 33% of total travel. Make sure to wear the normal amount of gear to have an accurate weight. Then focus on compression and rebound.

    No rear brake again

Exactly. In Harley-Davidson's case, their linked braking works like this: Above approx. 15-20 MPH (varies and determined by the computer, operated through the ABS module): - The front brake also sends some braking force to the rear, but most remains with the front. - The rear brake sends some...

    7.5 Key fuse Blowing out

Just had this happen to me. I suspected the rear turn signal, since it was damaged from someone bumping into it. Sure enough, the signal having been pulled out slightly and bent a bit caused a short, blowing the fuse every time I attempted to start the ignition. Waiting on a replacement light...

Interesting fuel octain discrepancy I found.

Ironically, the online service manual lists both 87 and 89 AKI as the minimum. 87 AKI (91 RON) under Fuel System, Engine Management and Exhaust System > Engine Management > Fuel Requirements 89 AKI (95 RON) under Specifications > Fuel System

    Got a insta 360 x5 today

I have the X4. They're vastly superior to those garbage GoPros that won't even charge while recording. I only use mine as a dashcam for liability reasons. I already have to tolerate seeing myself in the mirror--I don't need to see videos of myself, too.

    Din plug tip

I solved mine partially by bending the radial contacts on the plug outward, but mainly by bending the socket's contacts for the axial portion inward. But I like the O-ring idea, which feels like a more permanent solution for the radial part.

    Shift Assist Training?

The Rocket 3 and the Tiger 1200 both charge the battery in the exact same way (constant voltage in the low 14-volt range). One uses LiFePO4 and the other AGM and both work just fine.

    Odometer Error?

The Rocket 3? The GT is ~700 lbs. with all fluids (648.2 dry). With the Werkes exhaust it's about 675 lbs. wet.

    Odometer Error?

I record all fuel-ups in Fuelly. Based on that data, I've averaged 33.604 U.S. MPG over the past 2 years. My worst ever fill-up was 26.316 and my best was 44.104 (pure highway between the two stations). That's on 89 U.S. octane (RON + MON)/2 This is, of course, based on the bike's...

    Shift Assist Training?

I looked at the owner's manual, the TSA installation manual, and the service manual and the only times any of them say to do this is if you've just (re-)installed the TSA or there's a gear position fault or the gear position sensor has been reinstalled, in which case you need to do the gear...

    Odometer Error?

UN/ECE regulation 39 requires that Motorcycle speedometers in this speed class be engineered to read high from 0.5% to 16.2% high at 120 km/h, so the 8% I see is right in the middle of that range. The U.S. has no regulations regarding speedometer accuracy, so vehicles intended solely for the...

Road gas tank down to 1 mile left

Service manual says 18.8 liters, or 4.97 U.S. Gallons, or 4.14 imperial gallons. Owner's manual (U.S.) apparently rounds up and says 19 liters, or 5.02 U.S. Gallons, or 4.18 imperial gallons. Fuel light supposedly comes on at 4 liters remaining. The last time I had it come on, I filled it...
