    I just wrapped the tabs on the support that slot into the fender in some tape and there's no rattle. (Aftermarket carbon fiber fender from carbonfbr.)

    It sounds completely normal to me. That low-frequency popping sounds like it could be the normal popping that the muffler, well, muffles.

    If that's what it was, they'd all do it (mine doesn't) and the issue would go away after the vapor cools and returns to liquid form (but DOT 4's boiling point is way above the temperature the engine should ever reach).
