Things I've noticed riding in the cold.

Anyone ever plasti-dip the levers to reduce heat transfer from the fingers into the levers?
I vaguely seem to remember, didn’t Honda brake and clutch levers used to be supplied plastic covered? I know the ball ends had a plastic covering, but I’ve got a recollection of the controls having a clear plastic coating.

I tried wearing my snowmobile boots. I was worried about shifting being to clumsy. It was no problem. works great. I have heated socks, and I put a thick pair of socks over them. And with the snowmobile boots I can probably ride below zero. I have the handlebar muffs and heated glove liners inside mittens. I use a stretchy under armour long sleeve top over my heated jacket liner to help hold the jacket liner against my body. That makes a good difference. snowmobile balaclava with the thick windproof neck, and thin under helmet top. I rode the last two days at 27 degrees. No problem. I guess that's 3 or 4 below Celsius. I have been riding the KTM though. I sent the Zard muffler back to Italy to get recoated. Anyway, I feel like I have a better chance of saving a slide on ice with the KTM than the rocket.. Oh and I hit a seagull at 60 mph. Guts on my highway pegs.

Thats a really good idea I bet it would work good. The levers get pretty cold.

No need to paint plasti-dip on them if you've got some clear flexible pvc tubing laying around in the workshop.
That said, less easy to fit if your bikes levers have the ball shape on the ends.
