2021 Rocket 3 GT Triple Black
So, I went on my first decently long ride yesterday. Decided on a nickname for the rocket: Thighmaster. Not sure if my legs are just atrophied from being at home during the pandemic but, I got the work out of my life trying to keep my legs close to the bike.

Am I the only one? Further, can't find a lot about highway peg options. Anyone had similar experience? Any leads on options for the pegs? For that matter any thing in the way of frame savers?

I totally get the name brother. Tells me you were riding it correctly. 😀
I too am interested in knowing about the added protection.

I just got off a 4 day 1200 mile ride on a GT. Most of the time > 70mph, and it was a struggle to keep my legs close to the tank. When I got tired, I actually rested my legs back on the passenger pegs..

I think the main issue is the forward controls on the GT.

Dr. D you have the TFC, I have the R, never found a problem with leg position or fatigue with the mid-controls.
Those with GTs, if you're having this issue may consider switching to mid controls, offers much more grip on the bike and more controlled feel.

I think this bike is too strong and sporty for forward controls, JMO.

Oh I can see that for sure on both points you make. I do think it odd that some GT or touring bikes are designed with such forward foot control. Having your feet more underneath you should make for a more stable long riding position. Of course this can be personal preference.

I understand taller guys wanting the forward controls although tearing up the backroads with feet forward is counter productive and a little awkward for me. On long rides with the forward controls your feet (speaking for me at 5'9") and legs want to 'lift' and to me it's not a good position or feeling. Zutt was correct in my opinion about the bike is too sporty for forward controls although I bet there are guys on here that can rip the turns with forward controls no problem. A 6'6" guy may have problems with the mid controls though. You may have to experiment with foot position to find your Zen.
