Hey all,

I've seen a few posts on here mentioning Seafoam for cleaning injectors, etc. Is it really that good?

The online reviews seem to say the same thing, although, most reviewers are using it in older cars claiming it brought them back to life.

I was thinking of trying it out. I have a very rare and occasional sneeze from one of my injectors for the first few minutes of running my bike, and I'm not planning on a major service until spring due to funds.

Thoughts?
 
good question, I was wondering the same thing with all the ethanol in regular gas.
 
I use Wynn's injector cleaner just before every service interval. I've used it for the past two years with no problems.
 
I run 90 octane ethanol free gas in my Rocket, boats, etc. and have been using a product called PRIG (for gasoline, PRID is for diesel) for years.

It keeps everything clean, won't let carbon build up, ethanol settle out, and keeps the fuel "fresh" for well over a year.

A few years ago; the state of Florida began requiring that all gasoline sold for over the road use contain 10% ethanol, and gave the gas stations six months to put up signs advising the public of such.

Most of my neighbors (I live on the water) began having fuel system related problems with their boats.

Luckily, since I'd been using the product prior to that; I had no problems at all.

I've been a believer in PRIG ever since, and, since one ounce treats 16 gallons of gas; it's cheaper to use than Sea Foam.

My Dad uses Sea Foam in his boats, and it works well for him.

Rick in your first sentence you say you run ethanol free gas, a couple lines later you confirm the dilemma that all gasoline contains 10% ethanol. in illinois some pumps don't put the ethanol sticker over the premium gas but the ethanol is still there, so if you've found a source for decent fuel please share.
 

Down here several Marinas and convenience stores on the water stock an ethanol free mid-grade gasoline, usually 89-90 octane.

I use it in my boat motors, my R3R, and all my small engine stuff.

There's a Whetstone Oil Company with retail outlets in Brooksville and Crystal River that carry it, and the convenience store in Hernando Beach (four miles from my house in WW) carries a "Rec-90;" 90 octane ethanol free.

I put the PRIG stabilizer into all my gas cans, so that anything that receives the gas will be able to sit a while if necessary, and still run with no problems.

Steve59, I know of one station in Jacksonville that sells pure gasoline. At the moment I don't recall the name. When I get a chance, I'll find the name and address. That isn't very close to Carol Stream but if you ride down that way it might help.
 
i guess i expetected you to tell me you were getting your gas at a local private airport
