Just seeing if any of my fellow captains are heading up to DC this weekend for the 25th anniversary Rolling Thunder demonstration. This will be our 4th time attending and it's pretty **** cool. My wife, best friend (bloody HD rider!), and his fiance will be up there from Friday to Monday, so give me a shout if you're going to be there.
For those that don't know what I'm talking about, this is a motorcycle rally whose primary function is to bring attention and awareness to the many American POW/MIAs from all wars that have been left and forgotten about by time, and unfortunately society as well. There are events all weekend, but in general DC is literally taken over by around 300 to 400,000 bikers and you can park all around the mall on the green to visit all of the memorials. There'll be tons of us veterans and active duty service members there, but you don't have to be military to ride in the rally, just come to support both our POW/MIAs as well as our troops in service today. It's also completely free. Whatever you are doing this Memorial day weekend, enjoy it and take just moment to remember our fallen brothers and sisters who are not here with us to be thanked.
