2014 R3R,
Have decided for obvious reasons that it may be a good idea to have some sort of device mounted on my bike. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. I want something that offers the best protection.
Thanks. sds

The only downside is that action is faster than reaction. As a former police officer I got a chuckle out of drivers who would break hard when their fuzz buster alerted to radar. By the time they reacted I had their speed locked. I was nice though, usually it was warning...unless they talked themselves into a ticket

In my area police run radar constantly while patrolling (driving). My detector has always warned me in plenty of time to slow down under these circumstances (usually I get a signal before the cruiser is visible). I have also picked up "instant on" radar and even laser and have not been pulled over while using my detector. For me, it works.

I use a Valentine One in the car and on the bike. I would recommend it if you are considering one.

There are a number of devices to help alert you on the bike above the wind and exhaust noise. Search around online. You'll find something that'll work for you.

Agree completely. Instant on can get you if you're the only one on the road. Even then bikes tend to present a smaller target but it he hits your headlight (or windshield if so equipped) he's got you. I used V1's for years until I had a problem with a BMW's electrical system interfering with the **** thing. Switched to an Escort and the problem went away. Either model will give you great protection. I usually pick up signals long before the cruiser comes into view. I have an 4 light LED module that attaches to the phone jack.

What Valentine Model for Bikes?

just a reminder to not even think about running the detector in Virginia or even have it visible. They are illegal to possess and the State Police are not very humorous about them.
