Both bulbs in the 'Passing lights' on my 2010 Rocket III Touring have burnt out. I went to Triumph dealer in Traverse City MI and was told that I have to purchase the reflective bulb holder as well as the lens which will cost $120.00 each. Does anyone know where I can get just the bulbs. The bulb is an "Au-lite H3 12V 35W-N R707". I went on their website and I couldn't find that bulb.

Thanks for the speedy reply. No it isn't the fuse. First the left failed, then the right one and I checked them on a power supply just to be sure. When I went on the AU-Lite website they also gave the life expectancy for various bulbs and most seemed around 200 hrs. Do you know if they make H3 LED lamps. I don't really need the lights to see but rather to be seen and I find LED lights have this characteristic. Considering the size of the bike it's amazing how many people still come into my space and these passing/fog lamps or whatever they're called just make me more visible (at least in my mind).

Hi - at the moment I'm on a ferry crossing the bay of Biscay towards blighty and the free WiFi is flakey. And once I'm there I really do not know how much time on-line I'll have.

There are H3 LED bulbs but most are NOT any real use. Least-ways I've not found one that puts any real lumens out onto he road. You need at least 10Watts LED output. Right now CREE XM-L or XM-L2 series are the best - but it'll be custom job.

Doing custom work is possible BUT not as easy as it sounds. But if you can hang on 3 weeks I'm happy to walk you through it.

IF YOU WANT LED NOW - AND IF THE LAMPS ARE 4.5" AS ON HARLEYS.
Splash out and look at TruckLites Phase7 - REALLY!

Do the 7" headllamp with Trucklite too.

I'm out of Canada and don't know what is available here. I'm riding a 2010 Triumph Rocket III Touring and the bulbls I'm looking to replace are the ones on either side of the headlamp. I've already blown a fuse and i'd like to go with a low wattage long life bulb as I only use these lamps to be seen by other drivers.

Thanks for your help, it is much appreciated.

If all you want is for the existing assemblies to have a bit of light then scour E-BAY for H3 base LED bulbs. Go for SMD5050 type LEDS You'll almost certainly have to do a bit of soldering as triumph tend to fit modifies bulbs with extra long wires.

Maybe something like http://www.ebay.com/itm/2X-Car-Vehi...Parts_Accessories&hash=item53fd749e75&vxp=mtr

BUT If you're blowing fuses - I'd trace the wiring for a short somewhere.

imo and ime - It's better to have a single PINPOINT HIGH POWER LED as a Daylight Riding light. I have some of these at home waiting for road trials with the Police at work. http://www.lightmalls.com/ultrathin...-eye-rear-backup-reverse-tail-lamp-black-pair - They're irritatingly bright close up. The trick is to mount them somewhere as far as possible ffom reflective surfaces - like chrome. Not always THAT easy on a bike

U check on amazon that is where I bought my h3 lights for my touring when I had it
it can be any brand h3 bulbs as long as its 35 watts if your 55 watts in u will burn ur wiring that what happen to me
