I am wiring in the oxford heated grips into my stock harness. I already had them hooked up stock for oxford and they worked great they have a adjustable temp controler. I order from triumph the harness and sub harness with relay. Im not getting power to the oxford controller at all. The stock triumph switch is a high, low neutral setup, the oxford is a variable unit do you think the relay is messing it up where its not getting power. Any Ideas guys

can someone help me out and tell me what relay model number there heated grip is I think this is my problem or the variable oxford control box I might be able to only run a toggle switch or something similar I have done everything wiring wise and have power but not enough to the grips to even start warming them up. Any suggestions

found out I was using the wrong relay I had a little one mabee 10 amp and the one that came with the factory grips is a 30 amp so I will see if this changes things for me.

tried my 30 amp relay didn't work. This is what I have for wiring. The triumph accessori subharnes wich starts at the relay, and goes up the main harness and connects to the appoipriate plugin under the tank, then on the same harness about 4 inches lower the second accessorie harness consisting of a red wire, a purple w/red stripe wire, and light pink wire suppose to go to the toggle switch wich is now the oxford variable controller with a red wire, white wire, and black wire. and just below the second accessorie harness where it comes out of the 1st harness is the 2 sets of black wires and red wires for the original grips wich aren now the oxford grips with the normal 2 wires coming out of them one hot one ground. I have tried every wireing way I can think of the only variable I can think of I havn't tried is to replace the oxford controller with a toggle style.

Does anybody have any ideas here, i don't know where to go next.

bit hard without seeing the set up but don't you just need a 12v + & - to go to the controller? Just come from a positive, switched from the ignition, wattage should be no more than 40w you would think so say 3.5amps max wouldn't even need a relay, fit an inline fuse maybe

controller's like the triumph toggle or oxford had three wires that connect to them or come out of them, constant power, ground, neutral wire.

When i installed hot grips, no relay was used. Heated grips do use lots of amps! Maybe more than you think, like 8 or so on high. Not sure of your wiring set up, but simple electronics says you either dont have power or dont have ground. Skip the triumph wiring and go strait to battery (via fuse) and be sure you have a very good ground. Also when you get it sorted, you should solder all connects for heated grips. Solder connections will make them work a lot better as you wont loose as many amps at the splices.

Thats how I originally had them hooked up dub was directly to the batter with a 5amp fuse, but decided to go this rought after I left them on accidently a few times and almost drained my battery. wanted to wire them in to the stock heated grips system so I wouldn't leave them on anymore that way they shut off with the ignition. Plus I like the oxford grips much better than the triumph ones. As far as I know and that isn't much with regards to elecronics a relay just opens and closes the current like a on off switch.
