I guess I didn't know that you had to introduce yourself on these things... but I got scolded by a member for not following the "rules"
So my name is Alex I live in Wisconsin and I own a 09 triumph rocket.
I'm 25 and am somewhat mechanicaly inclined. My two previous bike that I still own and run are a 77 and 79 xs750 (one cafe, one ol'skool chopper)

I have one quick question...how do I check the final drive fluid level..? I can see the drain plug

Alex, welcome from Texas! There are 2 plugs. The upper one is the fill plug and uses an Allen wrench to loosen. The lower one is the drain and is a hex head bolt. Fill the upper plug hole until gear oil run back out of it with bike level.

Be careful not to over torque them when tightening them back up...

Get the bike level and pull the top plug... oil should be at the bottom of the opening
