..Silverstar makes a motorcycle specific H4 bulb..stands up to vibration..they can be hard to find..at least that's what I used in my VTX..haven't done it yet on the Rocket..I think I got mine at Autozone..

I seem to be going through headlamps very quickly, about every 10,000 miles. I normally ride on high beam through the day and it is the high beams which die. The second one dies within 50 miles of the first one. Is anyone else having this problem? Are there special H4 lamps that you need for bikes, because I am using normal car bulbs?
I'll bet you've done the RELAY thing! - They're burning hotter so last less. Vibration may be part of it too. But I had the same thing on my wife's little Citroen. Same batch - same life.

Sadly I'm experiencing "issues" fittiing dipping "H4" HID in. It requires modifying the lens/reflectors. But I now have a spare pair, eh Leigh!.

Ian, run a set of headlight modulators. Two benefits;

1. they will extend the life of the filaments

and

2. You will be noticed by the cagers a lot more.....
